FEMA Call - Preparedness Survey... Freaky

i recovered from coronavirus in Fairfax, VA 3 days ago. I got it two weeks ago from a coworker. Everyone is infected around here judging by the sound of the coughing.

Well, I just got a call from FEMA. FL number. At first I thought it was a scam. But it was a live person and it was legit. She asked me if she could ask some questions and conduct a survey about disaster preparedness.

At first I answered "sure" and she quoted a bunch of privacy statutes and said that my info wouldn't be shared or identifiable. Then I got paranoid and ended up hanging up on her after she asked whether I was on a cell and my age. I honestly don't really want FEMA to know any of that info. And I definitely don't want them to know how prepared I am or even if I'm prepared at all. I feel like thats not what you want them to know if they ever lock shit down.

Anyways, I'm a bit freaked out about it. Seems like shit is getting realer by the day. I've got most of my preps. Still working on a couple but should be good to go in the next 3-5 days. I'm 85% right now.

They are collecting info to know whose house to raid to steal supplies and food.

OP...you said the call was "legit?" How do you know?

If you google and do some research, it doesn't look like FEMA is doing surveys. It does list some prior years when calls were proven to be fraudulent/scammers and NOT FEMA.

FEMA has tons of supplies. As if they need a few cans of food from someone's pantry. lol

If so, this is the most legit sounding scam I've ever answered. She was very thorough listing privacy statutes and disclosure info. No accent other than maybe a very slight southern south.

Its real. They are calling to get an idea about the people living there. So they can have the supplies and medications ready when they start the lockdown. Lets be real, lockdowns have already happened everywhere else. Italy, australia. Here next. Good luck and stay safe. Look out for yourself and your needs because no one else will.

I called back (an automated recording answers with no options) and the number belongs to a market research group named Loga (spelling?). I tried googling loga and loja group market research. Also searched for them under the phone number. I couldn't find them. They even say to visit at loja.com/loga.com (they don't spell it out) and I couldn't find them under that either.

I don't trust any phone calls out of the blue that ask me questions. They could ask perfectly innocent questions but then throw something concerning at you.

I have learned to hang up on anything like that just to be safe.

You have reason to be concerned, what if it's not FEMA, there are a lot of scammers out there that would take advantage of this situation.

Did you track back number to make sure it's definitely FEMA, or even call FEMA to see if they were doing such a thing in your area?
