Denver North, huh? It was Mullen for me, although the family had moved to Central, OR after my Sophomore year. Denver was a great place to live back through the entire '70's. Ski tickets were reasonably priced and for $10 bucks, you could ski all day! Elitches and Lakeside? were the great places to hang out on the weekends. Redrocks was great for concerts - saw Linda Ronstedt and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band there. I miss it all....

True. People from the 1950s said the same thing when the 1960s-70s crept in.

But I was walking down the street a few days ago and a guy driving by had rap music blaring from his car's speakers. Nothing but dark, mean, skanky lyrics and a staccato, mindless unmusical pounding bass beat could be heard all around him.

That to me is America in 2020, affected symbolically by 8 years of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Awww yes I would LOVE to go back to that time. I was 11 then. Loved life in those days. Loved the 80s. Met the love of my life. Got married to an ijuuut in 86, had kids, the 90s were a blur and the noughties not much different. I want to be a kid again. Unassuming, naive, fun. Beats the.crap out of these times. I hate living in this era. It sucks.

The good old days when women sported big hairy muffs, had natural tits, and weren't covered with tattoos and no nose-rings. And, most importantly they were comfortable with their sexuality!

WRONG. I was 18 in 1978, and lived on the VA/WV border. We would drive over the mountain to WV to buy alcohol, because WV was 18 as opposed to VA's 21.

Anything pre 911 would be fine by me. But, I'd prefer to go back to 1991 if I had to choose.

My Dad still does at 60. 32" waist and 36" length. He says it's not as simple to find pants anymore because they are mostly made for short, rotund people. He is bummed because his favorite decades long individually owned western wear store just went out of business.

Good Times-Good Times!

My preference would be to pick the 70s in general.

I would live it over and over again if I could.

To me, that decade, made a lot more sense over the decade we just experienced. Very little strife. More living and little, what we would say, "Just Existing."

Sure! Government still wasn't worth a "Tinker's damn", but we laughed about it. Nixon, Ford and Carter were in it just to kill time and have their names in the history books. Gas corps used scared tactics about selling their products and the public muddled & Laughed about it. We were sold tinker toy homes and cars and were told, To go forth and enjoy" and you know what?...We did! After almost a decade of Vietnam and Johnson, we needed the 70s. It was our release! Nothing was going to take that away from us. Nothing!

I wish every one had brought everything good forward from that year and we could still be living it.
