Trick here is water, unless you are making your own.

Plenty of seafood out there.

OK

Once you are out past the all reefs and shelfs, the seas calm and the timing relaxs some, so if you are Tiller/gps arm steering gear you have a chance at a nap. Id not trust a tiller mounted auto steering unless you are set up with directional alarms in your birth/pilot berth for anything more than 90 mins catties.

Campamento Militar Isla Guadalupe Guadalupe Island) is where you are heading after rounding the western tip of California.

I am guessing without a plotter in hand, Id say this will be in the 155 drgree range, perhaps a bit more. Rhum line it again from your first co-or

and once by plug this into your plotter:
28°59'56.8"N 118°15'31.9"W

This will bring you into the northern most approach for that island. This is where you are out of grub and will need to provision.

If you are lucky and it is a blow offshore, you will be threre in about 14-23 days depending on your hull speed of the vessel you are under.

Part there too come.

Uh yea sir... your plan will put us on the fucking rocks on a potential lee shore with that BARREN ISLAND with no docks lifts or water taxi service. lol

I was just fucking with you. Surely to fuck you would not knowingly head to guadalupe island? or would you captain?

Soooooooo.

Id clear the islnad on the windward side, do not get in the lee of that island.

28°02'10.8"N 114°07'11.6"W

Check that out.... looks like you could tie off and get ashore there and some mexican would help you....perhaps.

golaps from there Id say. No planes and only way to get there is by boat.

accapulco is your next provisions.
Hotel Aristos Acapulco is the first marina you wioll hit in the bay there. Id not go in further...you should be able to get anything you wish there. maybe.

as you can see.... transit by water is no easy task. Not for the weak or the weary.

what's the craft you are under Captain?

Only a 50km shelf there (30 miles) so you can get out of the chop fast. Bad area for high chop in anything over a 20kn blow. If it is blowing 30+ just stay in port or anchor out.

You are now within 2000kms of the galops. 1200 miles. If you do 60 a day you can be there in approx 20 days. Depending on the blow. Look at windy now and it is all over the place. Hope you have a self tending jib. Or perhaps a furled genoa and a yankee on a inner forestay. this way you can stay furled to about 60 and run with the self tacking staysail.

Anyhow.

Here you have made it. And I would just stay there for a while.

Excellent choice in boats Captain. Skookum.

YOu need 3 people with you so you can run 4 hour intermezzos and rotate them.

4 on 12 off. this is a safe way to hand steer that big boat safley without killing all the crew with fatigue.

cash, gash, ass or gas...no one rides for free.

Pick the crew nicely so your not jacking off for 4400kms. That would suck.

Anyhow.

Buddy I think you have a chance in that cooper.

I sail a contessa 42 out of Halifax Canada. I been to burmuda like 25 times.

All along the baja you will be following seas and running almost dead down wind. I would wing on wing and secure them with wiskerpoles or alike so you can no chinese jybe.

Be almost beneficial if you could go off about 20 degrees off wind so the backstays can rest lee on lee off.

ummmm

wow. Isn't sailing fun!!!! lol

winds are right on the nose as you come down south past say that acccapulco marina stop over.

there is a slight transition from horse lats to trades but its only for like a day or two.

mount a 1x8 8 foot long on your stantion base for fuel cans. Might be nice to have some extra diesel in case you fget duldrums...it can happen even there. Drill holes in in 1x8 for tie offs. Id want 6 yellow and 4 blue diesel and water.

make sure you have lots of tarps or old sail, so you can jury rig up a rain catcher.

water is your biggest threat....you cant run out.

water....fuck the oreo cookies....water.

Agreed with the water.
Tarps and old sails right in to the tanks.
I will have to top off with 100G diesel. At least that will help.I have 40 now.

The problem you have once you leave is where and when is it safe to come back.

YOu can't keep enough foot on that boat and you will need to resupply what like every 2 weeks?

If you want to bug out, go to an infection free island with plenty of food/water

If you can't do that, you are better off sheltering in with TONS of food until this blows over.
