In all seriousness though, I'm a painter and unless your beard is very thick you wouldn't have to worry about shaving. People with goatees and such would be fine. If you're worried either tighten the straps or perform a positive/negative test. But this of course is for respirators with cartridges. I can tell you without a doubt that those disposable fiber masks would be useless. If they don't trust painters enough to paint with them don't bet your ass on surviving an outbreak with one.

Masks are not a perfect fix, but they help. My beard will be going away, when it becomes obvious that I need a mask.
