I live in Orlando and have never taken my family on a real vacation. We want to head out west this summer, and would like to fly into Vegas and rent a car and go to the Grand Canyon from there. Can anyone give me any suggestions on the best place to stay near the Grand Canyon? We want to stay a day or two there and then head to California. Curious if I can pick up route 66 from the grand Canyon to California? There are cabins and campgrounds in the park. That is my suggestion. Get reservations now. I am SNOWIE. WELCOME TO THE NEW ICE AGE. TRY NOT TO STARVE. |

You can visit it from Nevada, Arizona and Utah. In between are LOTS of beautiful places. Second, your suggestion to travel from Vegas to the Grand Canyon and then California isn't very logical and economical. You need to decide which you prefer and stick around that location. Don't try and visit it all in 1-2 days. That's hundreds of miles. Arizona NW Grand Canyon is completely different than Arizona NE Grand Canyon. Also, Nevada desert is very desolate and the Arizona desert is very green and much more beautiful. Regroup and maybe someone can give you a more direct answer. |
