So, I had this dream last night.

It was Halloween and I was a kid and out tricker treating, although I got no candy and I wasn't actually a kid. And I was with my adoptive female parent (yeah, even in a dream description I can't call that witch "mom").

So, she brings me to the "dentist" because it's Halloween. And we're in the dentist office packed full of British speaking parents and kids wearing Halloween costumes - at night because tricker treating has now ended. Me and witchy are wearing matching outfits...all black.

And she was telling me that I shouldn't have been working to release the beast, because all of the shady shit she had been doing in her work was to keep the beast chained because it was "evil" (she works in COINTEL - no dream or even an average day with her is normal).

So, I looked at her, and plainly explained to her like she was a stranger, that no one had told me why the beast was chained, no one had told me a damn reason why they were acting so unethically or in such a damaging fashion, that information was not actually passed down the generations to my generation as it possibly had been in the past, and that was the unfortunate reality of the situation.

I had simply been working with what I had been given and what I could ascertain on my own as a member of a cut-off generation.

I ended my argument with "the system is fucked" - in a room full of children. Everyone went silent. I apologized for swearing. A small child with flowers came around telling everyone to shut up and blowing scopolamine from her bunch of flowers into their faces.

And - this has never happened in a dream to me before - the witch silently got up and left the waiting room, skipped the appointment and fled. I think I had insulted her (or she got a face full of scopolamine too and fled to avoid the effects around people) because that generational gap was her fault. It never even occurred to me that insulting that witch was possible with the ego she has. And I've never offended anyone in a dream...it was weird. She ran across 5 lanes of traffic faster than I could with scopolamine slowing down my processing of when it was safe to go, and then she quickly vanished around a corner or down a driveway.

Leaving me on my own to find my way home in the middle of the night with no car and no buses running. Now, that part was familiar.
