It is ideal to have a month or more if you have the time to shop and can afford to stock up. You may not end up quarantined in your home but you don't want to have to go out shopping if you are sick with the flu or it's bad weather or god forbid they quarantine your whole city and all the stores are closed. Quoting: 2hot2handle 2 Weeks huh? Come on and take a free ride. |

Every little bit of prepping is better than no prepping at all. |

LOL no comment Hell, man. Most people aren't even going to notice this. They will nothingburger this plague, even though they aren't aware enough to know that that's what they're doing, until they find themselves in the ICU (if they're lucky enough to get a bed) asking the doctor, "What the fuck is CoViD-19? Sounds like a sci-fi movie I saw 20 years ago." Must have missed it on the Twitter feed while driving to work in rush hour. |

So, there is a way to safely reuse N95 masks? Any healthcare workers know what they're talking about here? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 76288549 United States 02/20/2020 07:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.healthleadersmedia.com (secure)] The OSHA directive indicates that a respirator can be reused as long as it "maintains its structural and functional integrity and the filter material is not physically damaged or soiled." Educate employees to wear a surgical mask over the N95, wash their hands when donning and doffing the respirator without touching the inside, and store it in a breathable bag, McFarlane says. Just some helpful information. No telling how long it will take to resolve this situation. Though some will have masks, it's doubtful that ANYONE would have an unlimited supply! |

Quoting: 2hot2handle At least there is electricity. Unless the terrorist think it would be funny to take down the grid at the height of this. That would be a nightmare in winter. It's likely to happen if things get really bad though. Even if it were to turn out that non Asians are affected to a lesser degree, when everyone is sick, and a storm comes through, sick people won't be out fixing the damage. I'm saying that to get you to prep as if you WILL lose electricity. Because it sure would suck to prep as if it was staying on and then lose it. If it doesn't rain it pours as the old saying goes. It would be just like fate to have one thing hit after another to compound the problem. |
