What's the kill rate of asianx vs nonasians? Kill rate matters.

We have no idea yet. The sample of non-Asians is far too small, but as an anecdote, 6 of the 14 in Italy are already in serious condition. I don't like them odds.

You guys can have this thread if you want to keep talking about this, but I'm am sufficiently convinced that this plague does not discriminate based on ethnicity that I'm not gonna be spending any more time entertaining the theory.

Italy has lots of tourists and "migrants". I still wouldn't rule out racial resiliency for some races. Nearly all diseases affect different races differently.

It's really an academic discussion, though. By the time you know, it will already be way past too late if you guessed wrong.

Personally I see the spiritual component of this being the biggest factor. Remember story of Job, plagues against Egypt, plagues in Revelations. Best thing anyone can do is turn to God. This is a spiritual test. Our corporeal existence is only temporary and an infinitesimal fraction of our lives.

That is a very wise choice. No need to, not only gamble
on your own life, but the lives of your family.

Oh, yeah. I've been there all along. If you read some of my previous posts, I've always said I'm not betting my family's lives on the theory, even though I was willing to give it some thought. Now, I'm not giving it any more thought.

At this point, for me, it's all about gleaning as much as I can from the news, collecting as much local intel as possible, and using my best judgment to determine the perfect time to hole up until further notice.

It is very telling they aren't disclosing the race of coronadeaths outside Chyna. Race is a very important factor for individualized healthcare and rational (non-sjw) doctors always take race into account.

Some people get much more severe symptoms from COVID-19 than others.

Most people, perhaps 80% of people, seem to get a fairly light form of the COVID-19 illness. Groups that seem particularly prone to adverse outcomes include the elderly, smokers, those who are obese, and those with high blood pressure, diabetes, or poor immune systems. Males seem to have worse outcomes than females.

Strangely enough, people with East Asian ancestry (Chinese, Japanese, or Vietnamese) may have a higher risk of adverse outcomes than those of European or African ancestry. One of the things that is targeted by the disease is the ACE2 receptor. The 1000 Genome Project studied expected differences in ACE2 receptors among various groups. Based on this analysis, some researchers predict that those of European or African ancestry will tend to get lighter forms of the disease.

Interesting chart, Zeke. I'm still waiting on severity and lethality numbers. Yet those have no impact on the financial doom that WILL happen regardless of impacts outside of China.

I never thought non Asians couldn't catch this, just questions about severity and lethality in non Asian non SARS vaxxed populations.

I think we're on lockdown middle of next week here.
