1. The Weather Channel, Local News, and others will flash tornado warnings and watches on the ticker. Download their apps to your cell phone, which will also alert you if it happens.

2. If you are in a tornado prone area, usually the town will have a siren system. If you are not too far out of town, you will hear it.

3. Get to the center and lowest level of your house. Stay away from windows, etc.
