(OP) J to the 3rd User ID: 78129343 Switzerland 02/12/2020 03:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the video goes into a lot more than just keys, and cloning of keys, but also show tons of places where many of us may think our places are secured, only to see that the locks, or padlocks, or security systems are easily, and quickly fooled. yeah, sure, 2nd amendment, i totally agree, but this is still great point to be aware of. . . (OP) J to the 3rd User ID: 78129343 Switzerland 02/12/2020 03:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | this next video is focused more on doors and securing a door against attacks. also really worth the time to view. especially if you need to think about your security perimeter. it also goes into a bit of social engineering and how, through social engineering, crooks and con artists can get a lot of information that allows them to steal/rob from you or your loved ones. i highly recommend taking a look at this (and the original op) fascinating video(s) . . (OP) J to the 3rd User ID: 78129343 Switzerland 02/12/2020 04:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | and here is a lot of info about how terrible many padlocks are and how easy they can be opened with very little skill (without anyone knowing). again, i am telling you, glp, this, because this information is out there and can be used against you. if you want to use this information to cheat or steal, fuck off--you're scum. this is to help prevent you or your family protect themselves. this video shows you how 8 different padlocks can be opened in less than 10 seconds. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77699866 are you retired? any info you can add to this? some of the tech has gotten to be crazy in the last decade it seems. i watched other videos from the same guy, and it talks about capturing badge credentials covertly, cloning the badge, and then getting clearance with the cloned badge. the process was quick and easy. for those that don't understand what i mean about badges--the cards you may have to wear at work to get in and out ofo the building and specific sections or doors. i'll see if i can find that specific video as well. to expand, they used a mix of social engineering to get close enough to someone, like a security guard that usually has all access limits in their badge credentials, and was easily able to clone the badge with a small device that was easily concealed in a backpack, briefcase... Quoting: JJ Johns it is especially useful if you are thinking about safety as far as locks and sharing information online are concerned. the op video as well as the following two videos are also really interesting and eye-opening about what you assume is safe, and how easy barriers and locks are defeated. this first video is about many things, including how from a photograph, a clone key can easily be produced! so, in other words, if you happen to allow a photo of your key to be made, or for whatever stupid reason, decide to post a picture of your key or keys online, someone can easily clone it and use it to enter your home or office, or whatever. and, there is a lot more than just this in this and the following videos. you think your super secure door is safe? it can possibly be opened in seconds without a key. and, many other, extremely interesting bits... i think this knowledge is really important, in order to stay safe and ward against possible black hats... more great videos in the next couple of posts. Just guide an old pilgrim to salient pointing as I may have passed on to pastures new as I waste some 3/4 hour tryin to decide if bullshit is really real. |

Sure, maybe you can secure your doors better than they currently are. However, if someone really wants in your house, all they have to do is cut or break a window, so how secure can a home really be? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 54429704 United States 02/12/2020 05:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You want notice that an intruder is attempting entry. You want him/her to think twice when the try. You want to capture them on video and if you have time, weapons and presence, you can deal with him/her. If you don't, you might delay them long enough for security or police to arrive. You might also make sure that all windows and other openings are covered with bars or steel mesh. Siding should be stucco at least - reinforced concrete is best. Brick and block are in the middle. Getting through that stuff takes time and makes noise too. Anything that's just wood can be penetrated silently. |
