Chain tea is good. we don't use the premade tea bags, we make it from scratch like the street tea. By bulk star anise, cloves and other ingredients. Boil on stove, cover, let rest then strain. Yummy!

For supplements, we take NAC 600mg morn/night will increase if people start dropping around town.
We also take Wild Oregano oil, C,B12,D, and another multivit pill for the micro vitamins.

I'm older I have life long asthma, allergies, early COPD and I tend to get walking pneumonia every fall so keeping on top of my health is paramount.

We eat extremely healthy, no gluten to gum us up. No wheat.
No dairy, butters or cow icecreams or cheeses. No corn or corn oils.
We consume loads of fresh/frozen vegetables, fruits and low processed clean meats.
Only use grapeseed oil for hot cooking and olive for cold foods.Balsamic vinegars, ACV, rice milk.
3 nights a week we have huge kale & spinach salads with hearts of palm, pecans, artichoke hearts, black/green olives, onions, cubed avacado and other toss ins, no nightshades like tomatoes.

When my lungs get stressed, we use lots of teas, match's, honey, dandelion, pretty much anything. The top importance of hot teas are to breath the steam as you sip and stay super hydrated. Like soups....
Hydration is the first thing hospitals do when you get admitted, they hook you up to a fluid drip because most times rehydrating your body is the first step to recovery.

You can even start your day with a liter of distilled water with 1/4 tsp of sea salt and a drop of lemon to keep your electrolytes up.

Another note:
I see apples listed in the thread. My Allergist advised me to not eat apples since they are related to ragweed.
I'm allergic to ragweed.

I also have an oxygen generator, nebulizer but I don't bother nebulizing Hydrogen Peroxide since the molecular bond is so very weak it usually just creates expensive H2o once the other molecule breaks off.
I use Albuterol vials instead.

Rest well, eat super good, stay hydrated.

What you spend on better foods you will save in healthcare costs in the long run.

Research Cytokine Storm. Don't have the link but read somewhere that if a person has built up a strong immunity that when virus attack it can cause this to happen as well as people with auto immune systems.

Not disagreeing with OP post just say everyone research to arrive at their own treatment about this and other treatments.

As a potential care-taker of sick people from this virus, you want to eat liver (or other ways to intake natural B6), but also get some B6 supplements, the drops are likely the fasting acting.

Got this from an article on Life extension titled NAC Can Save Lives..

H5N1 influenza, or bird flu, is a lethal and potentially pandemic infection that produces the massive release of inflammatory mediators aptly called the “cytokine storm.”24 Other more common forms of influenza also act by triggering massive cytokine releases that inflame vulnerable lung tissue. In early 2010, it was discovered that NAC offers dual protection against bird flu. It inhibits both virus replication and expression of pro-inflammatory molecules in cells infected with H5N1 virus, holding out the promise of effective protection in the event of a global avian flu pandemic

I think if you start a daily regime as Autumn is starting say September in the colder climes like;
a good vitamin C, Zinc, Super Garlick capsules, vitamin D, Oregano oil 9 not to be underestimated, a good make will protect you against a lots of ailments and tooth abscess), Iodine and Hydrogen Pyroxide. And any daily herb teas along with a good diet, fresh air and daily outside exercise is about as good as you can get.

I have a question for those in the know about the herbal remedies.

I have almost all of that stuff but I never know how much of what to use in the preparation of the tea/potions. I eat garlic and hot peppers with just about everything so not concerned about that one.

How much tumeric do you use when preparing a concoction?

How much ginger? does it need to be freshly grated ginger or is dried ginger ok?

It's not from their imagination, most modern medicines are refined forms/concentrations of herbal medicines

When i have a cold or flu symptoms, i chop up shallots or strong onion. Then put them in a plastic bag.
After a few minutes,i put my face over the bag. I inhale through the nose for as long as possible with my eyes closed. Then i exhale from my mouth slowly with my eyes open. I do this for as long as possible until the fumes have dissipated.
It Clears all the mucas from you head and relieves the pressure. When you exhale with your eyes open they will sting, but keep them open until you have lots of tears.
It gets easy after a few times. Great for sinus also.

I've bought Astragalus at Dual
[link to www.beyondmenu.com (secure)]

It helped clear thick green mucus out of my lungs. I became very sick after a roommate kept bringing eucalyptus shampoo and mouthwash into my apartment, despite my repeatedly telling him how extremely allergic I am to it. My lungs filled up quickly with mucus either in attempt to block the aerosolized eucalyptus from the shower from entering my lungs, and/or due to a bacterial infection I was succumbing to because my defenses were down.

I probably had or was about to fall into pneumonia when I purchased Astragalus and made tea from it. My lungs quickly improved within days, and I was pretty much healed within a week without any antibiotics.

Of course, I also kicked the roommate out because his actions were threatening my life.

But, but there is no money in that? You can't patent a plant.

You can take out and synthesize some part of it, negating all the other helpful things though.

Then you can focus on suppressing symptoms so you have lifetime customers.

Many scientific studies support these claims. You're obviously confusing the Pharma-based Medical industry with science. The interests of the Pharma-based Medical industry is to make money off of treating symptoms instead of preventing or curing diseases. They create synthetic versions of some compounds naturally occurring in many inexpensive remedies, patent the synthetics, and sell them to you at huge prices. Plus, many of their pharmaceuticals have side-effects that they will address by selling you additional pharmaceuticals. It's like a death spiral

Re: A little Herb Summary vs COVID-19
Since the coronavirus (2019-nCoV) we have learned that it is more or less a virus, which in serious cases may lead to severe and even critical problems to the lungs and respiratory system.

We have also learned that right now there is no official cure or vaccine available, hence the suggested method of healing is "supportive" and not "combative" "quoting 001 ;-)". I would thus like to make a thread on natural remedies/ herbs and herbals which may strengthen the lungs and respiratory system, and also boost the immune system, to help survive a potentially deadly virus infection.

Any comment or experience about "strengthening your respiratory and immune system via natural remedies and herbals" please feel free to share!

I will start with known herbals from Indonesia that could help to strengthen and to clean/detox the lungs. Keep in mind that Indonesia has hundreds, if not thousands of years of experience in using herbal ingredients in medicine provided by its vast jungles and rich nature, for example "Jamu": [link to en.m.wikipedia.org (secure)]

On top of it Indonesians are used and experienced, to some of the worst infections and viruses still making its rounds here as i write this (dengue fever, malaria, Zika virus, rabies with 100% mortality rate just to name a few) also experienced all kind of viruses coming down from china in the past (bird flu, swine flu, etc etc). Hence people here are actually pretty relaxed and making fun bout Corona.

Anyway, if you are interested, do a bit of research on your own... You can make many types of drink and tea mixes (recommend daily intake) with any of the following:

1. Ginger (anti oxidant, anti inflammation, cleans excess mucus from lungs)
2. Turmeric (anti viral, anti bacterial)
3. Shallot onion (cleanses throat and helps with throat inflammation)

"Jamu" recipe (use translate) with above ingredients: [link to jabar.tribunnews.com (secure)]

4. Apple (rich in phenolic acid and flavonoids, known to help control lung inflammation , to help with asthma)

5. Garlic (rich in allicin, useful against bacterial lung infection)

6. Green tea (removes fluids from lungs)

7. Food rich in "Carotenoids" like carrots, spinach, kale or pumpkin (antioxidant vitamins are positively associated with lung function and respiratory health)

8.And the best one i put at last, we call it in Indonesia "cocor bebek (duck leave)" , Latin: "kalanchoe pinnata", and it supposed to have mystical healing properties for injured or sick lungs.

[link to en.m.wikipedia.org (secure)]

A recipe for this one:

[link to m.liputan6.com (secure)]

So you see.. coronavirus might be all doom & gloom, but i strongly believe that for every sickness, nature already prepared the answer loooong in advance... So cheer up, positive thinking and stay healthy

Edit to add - Thanks to "Undestroyer" for pointing this out: Avoiding Food that makes mucus discharge worse, may very well be as important as finding food that lessens the discharge

[link to lunginstitute.com (secure)]

Edit to add 2 - Turmeric & Ginger, recommended by survivalist Dr who went through real SHTF in Venezuela: [link to my72.news.blog (secure)]
