Nice thread

Home remedies like milk and hiney or whiskey and hiney work i think because the nikk or whiskey creates mucous trapping the virus and the honey breaks the mucous barrier and expells it.

Re: A little Herb Summary vs COVID-19
I’d drink chai tea.

Most of it has Cardamom which is known to work against viruses. Some varieties of it contain Star anise which they make Tamiflu from. Most have cinnamon and cloves which are antiviral. Some have ginger which increases immunity. Some have black pepper which is antibacterial.

Just check the label of whatever kind you’re buying. Unless you’re particularly sensitive to any of the spices there really isn’t a good reason not to drink it.

Stash makes a double spice version which has tons of cinnamon. Eastern Shore makes a decaf tiger chai if you don’t want excess caffeine and it has a pretty good dose of pepper.

Re: A little Herb Summary vs COVID-19
Howdy I used to get pneumonia every year for five years, twice I had to be hospitalized. My cure IS food grade hydrogen peroxide. It kills viruses, I have been pneumonia free since 2012!! Colloidal Silver used in a nebulizer goes straight to the lungs and stays there embedded to fight off future VIRUS and bacterial infections!! It WORKS and VERY cheap I may add!!!!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78030160

How do u use hydrogen peroxide for this?
I am looking to buy colloidal silver today I have young children hoping to find some good tips here to keep them and myself healthy and safe from this virus.

Thanks for this post!

I just took some hot water and mixed in raw apple cider vinegar, raw honey, and organic powdered turmeric, ginger and cinnamon. It tastes really good like tart apple cider. I put some over ice and gave it to my two year old and he loves it. I will make sure we drink some every evening.
 Quoting: I_am_who_I_am

Wow nice to hear and all the best! I just went out and bought a little blender with my wife to better prepare our daily anti virus juices.

Before this virus i never really drank it (my wife did though tumeric helps with menstrual cycle also).... but looking at my son i have a super strong urge that i have to prepare my family not only supply wise, but also mentally and physical wise. I estimate the virus hits here very soon (indonesia is already surrounded by "positive" countries) and i think a strong immune system and healthy lungs are our best bets...

My wife recipe:

tumeric into blender, mix with water, put into pan, add tamarin.. boil until water is somewhat reduced and the resulting "hot juice" is filtered to get a clear hot juice.

Crush the ginger, put into pan give a bit of water and mix with palm sugar.. can be put into fridge to make it refreshing.

So basically two drinks.. first the very bitter tumeric hot drink (half a cup) and afterwards the fresh ginger and palm sugar mix drink

We also eat a spoon of honey from wild bees (jungle bees) every morning.

For kids there is a special other recipe which i will write down another time.

But yes apple cider is definately one of the easiest to swallow daily for the little ones

8.And the best one i put at last, we call it in Indonesia "cocor bebek (duck leave)" , latin: "kalanchoe pinnata", and it supposed to have mystical healing properties for injured or sick lungs.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78450300

Hi Tia,

Duck Leave what we call it here or latin: kalanchoe pinata, is growing in tropical countries. In the US i think it is also growing in Hawaii. Nearby the US it is available in the Bahamas and Carribean.

Here is some more info about it.

[link to www.levypreserve.org]

Let me know if you have access to it, and i would be happy to translate the recipe i found here in Indonesia for its usage of helping in the healing of lung infection.

Otherwise i would go the safe route and try a daily mix of ginger, tumeric, and honey.... Also take into consideration the other food, fruits (daily apple) and herbs listed in this thread. Definately recommend to consult first with your doctor also, whether it could have any effect on your medications...

Speedy recovery!

Thyme tea is good as well.

About the blue colouring of ionic silver, I read that was a myth, related to the fact that the silver fluid had the wrong chemical composition.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78455523

Indeed Thyme is another "lung" herb..

It is traditionally a herb used to treat the lungs, and some of the effects thyme has on the body include: reducing lung secretions, being antimicrobial, and relaxing bronchial muscle (Aydin et al, 2005).

Actually combining a mucous producing food with a mucous eliminating food from the lists in the link will provide a similar result.

yes it is sort of a puzzle isn't it. A poster earlier told about how pnewmonia dried up the lungs and a steam shower saved him.

Not being aware of the old remedy myself till recently and in my family I was told to avoid milk when sick with a cold and this is generally a pretty good idea but with the right combination the mucous could be put to good use.

I originally started exploring these ideas because of all the mucous related issues surrounding marajuana. I argue still that it is the foods that are introducing the mucous and that pot use actually is breaking the mucous barrier so people that experience the congestive mucous need to watch their diet before they blame pot use on their problems. Pot has other drawbacks so I am not currently recommending that but I can say that in my historical use of that substance I did not ever have trouble with virus.

Foods that do not have the drawback can be used wisely for the same purpose.

edit:

Also I think sticking with the home remedy is a good idea. there's a reason old remedies persist.

[link to www.lifeextension.com (secure)]

“There is also the increased risk of infection of the lung and pneumonia when using Serrapeptase. This is rare (as evidenced by a few isolated letters to the editor in medical journals)6 but is a possibility because Serrapeptase thins mucus secretions, which can lead to lung complications if one has a history of lung problems. Also note that the studies involving Serrapeptase do not extend over a long period of time. Therefore, the long-term effects of this supplement have not yet been determined.”

Every item i listed in the summary on second post has dangerous side effects, if taken incorrectly. To various degrees. However in emergency situations of life and death anything goes ;-)

Even garlic can be life threatening if you are allergic to it.

It grows abundantly worldwide and can easily be processed at home with a little vodka, macerating for 6 weeks. Usnea is often referred to as ‘lungs of the forest”. It’s uses are numerous. Re: A little Herb Summary vs COVID-19
Since the coronavirus (2019-nCoV) we have learned that it is more or less a virus, which in serious cases may lead to severe and even critical problems to the lungs and respiratory system.

We have also learned that right now there is no official cure or vaccine available, hence the suggested method of healing is "supportive" and not "combative" "quoting 001 ;-)". I would thus like to make a thread on natural remedies/ herbs and herbals which may strengthen the lungs and respiratory system, and also boost the immune system, to help survive a potentially deadly virus infection.

Any comment or experience about "strengthening your respiratory and immune system via natural remedies and herbals" please feel free to share!

I will start with known herbals from Indonesia that could help to strengthen and to clean/detox the lungs. Keep in mind that Indonesia has hundreds, if not thousands of years of experience in using herbal ingredients in medicine provided by its vast jungles and rich nature, for example "Jamu": [link to en.m.wikipedia.org (secure)]

On top of it Indonesians are used and experienced, to some of the worst infections and viruses still making its rounds here as i write this (dengue fever, malaria, Zika virus, rabies with 100% mortality rate just to name a few) also experienced all kind of viruses coming down from china in the past (SARS, bird flu, pig flu, etc etc). Hence people here are actually pretty relaxed and making fun bout Corona.

Anyway, if you are interested, do a bit of research on your own... You can make many types of drink and tea mixes (recommend daily intake) with any of the following:

1. Ginger (anti oxidant, anti inflammation, cleans excess mucus from lungs)
2. Turmeric (anti viral, anti bacterial)
3. Shallot onion (cleanses throat and helps with throat inflammation)

"Jamu" recipe (use translate) with above ingredients: [link to jabar.tribunnews.com (secure)]

4. Apple (rich in phenolic acid and flavonoids, known to help control lung inflammation , to help with asthma)

5. Garlic (rich in allicin, useful against bacterial lung infection)

6. Green tea (removes fluids from lungs)

7. Food rich in "Carotenoids" like carrots, spinach, kale or pumpkin (antioxidant vitamins are positively associated with lung function and respiratory health)

8.And the best one i put at last, we call it in Indonesia "cocor bebek (duck leave)" , Latin: "kalanchoe pinnata", and it supposed to have mystical healing properties for injured or sick lungs.

I am smoking a pack of cigarretes everyday since 20 years.

Last night i made myself a nice turmeric and ginger juice, had some green tea before i slept, and ate some honey during the day. This morning i woke up and inhaled air deeply.. it was the best breath i felt in for a long time, it lasted the whole morning. I also felt that my body was constantly trying to get phlegm & excess mucus out of my lungs during the day... Back to the roots

Re: A little Herb Summary vs COVID-19
Nice thread

Home remedies like milk and hiney or whiskey and hiney work i think because the nikk or whiskey creates mucous trapping the virus and the honey breaks the mucous barrier and expells it.

Milk and whiskey works because you don't mind being ill

Actually milk and whiskey will both produce mucous and is not the home remedy.

It is milk and honey or whiskey and honey that are the home remedies.

There are hundreds if not thousands of different types of honey.

Manuka honey and clover honey may have antiviral properties...
