DAYUM!!!!! That might be why my antibiotic hasn't been working as well as it should! We need to take this stuff back and make it in the USA. These other countries have NO STANDARDS and Red China is our enemy. We should not be reliant on them so that a few very wealthy people can become even wealthier and completely run our world.

I do think giant multinational corporations need to be brought to heel and forced to bring back business to THIS country. Sherman anti-trust laws need to be used. If they don't want to be AMERICAN businesses, maybe we shouldn't let them SELL in America!

Even though I agree with the main thrust of the point of this thread, the fact remains that many people's lives are enhanced by taking a much needed pill daily. I am one of them. I am 84 now and would have died 16yrs ago of a heart attack without modern medical intervention. My son would be in a wheelchair now without Enbrel for his rheumatoid arthritis. My life has been improved by these advances in medicine. My beef is that we are being exploited by the high cost of many of these medicines that many people have no choice whether or not they take them. It would be out of the reach of someone who does not have medical insurance, since it costs $1000.00 a month for this medicine. It annoys me that natural alternatives are not looked into because there is no profit in it. I remember when all these pharmaceuticals were manufactured in the U.S. I remember the outcry when the pharmaceutical companies first went overseas because the wages of workers was more favorable.The outcry died down though when the government failed to act on this unamerican turn of events of almost all manufacturing being taken out of our country. Finally it took a businessman to see the effect this was having on our country and act decisively on it.

Most all pharmaceutical research and development is done in the US, 30% of it is paid for by US taxes and other US sources. It is mostly manufactured in slave worker China- yet Americans pay more for pharmaceuticals than anywhere in the world.
