"In 2002, Eckard Wimmer's group at Stony Brook University succeeded in synthesizing poliovirus from its chemical code,
producing the world's first synthetic virus. Scientists first converted poliovirus's published RNA sequence,
7741 bases long, into a DNA sequence, as DNA was easier to synthesize.
Short fragments of this DNA sequence were obtained by mail-order, and assembled.
The complete viral genome was then assembled by a gene synthesis company.
Nineteen markers were incorporated into the synthesized DNA,
so that it could be distinguished from natural poliovirus.
Enzymes were used to convert the DNA back into RNA, its natural state.
Other enzymes were then used to translate the RNA into a polypeptide, producing functional viral particle.
This whole painstaking process took two years. The newly minted synthetic virus was injected into PVR transgenic mice,
to determine if the synthetic version was able to cause disease. The synthetic virus was able to replicate, infect,
and cause paralysis or death in mice. However, the synthetic version was between 1,000 and 10,000 times
weaker than the original virus, probably due to one of the added markers."

The new coronavirus has an HIV-like mutation that means its ability to bind with human cells could be up to 1,000 times as strong as the Sars virus,
according to new research by scientists in China and Europe.
When looking at the genome sequence of the new coronavirus, Professor Ruan Jishou and his team at Nankai University in Tianjin
found a section of mutated genes that did not exist in Sars, but were similar to those found in HIV and Ebola.

“This finding suggests that 2019-nCoV [the new coronavirus] may be significantly different from the Sars
coronavirus in the infection pathway,” the scientists said in a paper published this month on Chinaxiv.org,
a platform used by the Chinese Academy of Sciences to release scientific research papers before they have been peer-reviewed.
The mutation could not be found in Sars, Mers or Bat-CoVRaTG13,
a bat coronavirus that was considered the original source of the new coronavirus
with 96 per cent similarity in genes, it said.
This could be “the reason why SARS-CoV-2 is more infectious than other coronaviruses”,
Li wrote in a paper released on Chinarxiv on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a study by French scientist Etienne Decroly at Aix-Marseille University,
which was published in the scientific journal Antiviral Research on February 10,
also found a “furin-like cleavage site” that is absent in similar coronaviruses.

The cleavage site structure’s role is to trick the human furin protein,
so it will cut and activate the spike protein and cause a “direct fusion” of the viral and cellular membranes.

This Taiwan virologist and pharmacologist explains on Taiwanese TV that the geographical location with the greatest diversity of virus strains must be the original source because a single strain cannot emerge from nothing. He demonstrated that only the US has all the five known strains of the virus (while Wuhan and most of China have only one, as do Taiwan and South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam, Singapore, and England, Belgium and Germany), constituting a thesis that the haplotypes in other nations may have originated in the US.

This Virologist further states that the US has recently had more than 200 “pulmonary fibrosis” cases that resulted in death due to patients’ inability to breathe, but whose conditions and symptoms could not be explained by pulmonary fibrosis. He says that he wrote articles informing the US health authorities to consider seriously those deaths as resulting from the coronavirus, but they responded by blaming the deaths on e-cigarettes, then silenced further discussion. …

He also states the case of September of 2019 when some Japanese traveled to Hawaii and returned home infected, people who had never been to China. This was two months prior to the infections in China and just after the CDC suddenly and totally shut down the Fort Detrick bio-weapons lab claiming the facilities were insufficient to prevent loss of pathogens
