It basically boils down to if you believe that matter arose from nothing in the big bang, and then consciousness arose from self-organising mud...

Or if you believe that consciousness arose in the ether/eternity/quantum plane, and then condensed and organised matter into being through intelligence and observation.

I take it that you adhere to matter from nothing, and self organising mud.

Myself, I tend to think that consciousness has a far easier time to come into existence from ether and energy-potentials, than from mud on some beach or riverbank.
