The most crucial things right now to stock up on is: white rice preferably jasmine rice, not brown and bottled water

If the vitamin c thing is real and it kills this thing or helps the body fight it then: CAMU CAMU. It’s a fruit that has the most concentrated vitamin c levels for a food in the world and not synthetic like all that other stuff, it’s sold as a powder in most of the world because there’s no market for the whole fruit.

The common cold is a corona virus.
 Quoting: gnostic9

Correct.

I've never heard the label "Coronavirus" until just the past few weeks, which makes me realize just how ignorant I've been.

The common cold is a viral infectious disease that infects the upper respiratory system. It is also known as acute viral rhinopharyngitis and acute coryza. It is the most common infectious disease in humans and is mainly caused by coronaviruses or rhinoviruses.
 Quoting:

I read a post a day or so ago where someone implied because "Coronavirus" was mentioned in a study done by a group of people associated with Bill Gates, that somehow they were in on a big con job. That they were into getting a money-making flu shot into the public.

Wrong.

If what I'm reading is true, in 3-4 months 34% of the people currently posting on this site will be dead.

Does that sound right?
 Quoting: Billy Ringo

No.
Not everyone gets sick, not everyone gets seriously sick, and it's highly unlikely that 1/3 of the world will be dead in a few months. Like this has the potential to get pretty bad, but not like that.
 Quoting: Feistylorax

Agreed. It may kill millions, or 10's of millions, but I can't believe that it would kill 3 billion.

Now, infrastructure and societal collapse....who knows.

If this continues the way it appears to be continuing, a lot of people who never even got nCoV will have died.

Now, before I start my daily news dump, I'm going to relax with a soak in my hot tub.

Life goes on.
 Quoting: NawtyBits

It doesn't need to kill 3 billion for 3 billion to die. It just has to kill enough to cause enough fear and panic for societal collapse to kill the rest of the 3 billion

Coronavirus: 2nd case of new virus confirmed in California, bringing US total to 4

A fourth case of the deadly coronavirus that originated in central China was confirmed in the United States, health officials announced Sunday.

This most recent case was reported from Los Angeles County.

The country's third case was also confirmed Sunday in neighboring Orange County, California, the OC Health Care Agency's Communicable Disease Control Division announced in a press release Sunday.

Both patients were described as returning travelers from Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the disease's outbreak.

The Orange County patient was described to be in isolation at an undisclosed hospital in "good condition," and the Los Angeles patient is receiving care but the person's condition is unknown.

The confusion is understandable since all news media keep referring to it as if CoronaVirus is its official name. Someone needs to name this thing. Wuhan Flu, perhaps? Although I'm sure the inhabitants of Wuhan won't like that much.

The Gates thing is just pure ignorance. It would be just like Gates to be working toward the reduction of virus contagion and vaccinations.

You can make elderberry syrup using fried elderberries and raw honey. I bought a pound on amazon for $23. Used a gallon of distilled water, 1 cup of dried elderberries put in cinnamon sticks and cloves and simmer for an hour, let cool to barely warm, add your honey, I use 2 cups, then put in jars and store in fridge. For prevention take 1-2 Tbs per day for adults, tsp for kids. Elderberry actually puts a protective coating around cells that blocks viruses from entering. My diagnose and I haven’t gotten sick all winter, hubby had a pretty bad cold or flu but then started taking the elderberry and it shortened the duration and helped with symptoms. I think he would have been worse without it. Remember Elderberries have to be cooked or they are poisonous. I normally go wild harvest elderberries in the fall but didn’t make it this year so had to buy the dried😬

In all seriousness, the one thing China does NOT want is any more virule infections in their protein.

They have lost millions of hogs, chickens, ducks, geese and other animals over the past few years.

It is a very slight and improbable possibility that with efforts to feed its billion and a half population on the verge of failure, other plans to cull the herd might be considered.

Massive animal losses coupled with a solar minimum that is devestating crops all over the planet point to a bleak future, famine, and an entirely new aspect on world survival.

China would not be the first to sacrifice in a desperate attempt to save.

So is political correctness responsible for the lack of information regarding ethnicities of those who catch this in countries outside of China??
 Quoting: Peepaws

Way too early to tell if this virus prefers a certain genotype. I would expect 100% of the cases in the US to be imported. One shouldn't assume that the suspect cases in the US are all Chinese. We just don't know yet.

Give it another week.

But, coronaviruses aren't generally picky.
 Quoting: NawtyBits

Since the virus started in central China and there’s a two-week incubation period, it stands to reason that the only cases would be Chinese currently. If, as you said, in another 8-10 days, all the cases are still ethnically Chinese, we could start to be suspicious that it discriminates, but I very much doubt that will be the case.
