Swedish rapper Yasin Byn has been arrested in connection to the murder of a former friend, according to local reports.

Yasin Byn, whose real name is Yasin Abdullahi, was taken into police custody on 30 December, after the body of a 20-year-old man was found with fatal gunshot wounds to the head in Stockholm.

Abdullahi has over 640,000 monthly listeners of Spotify and successfully topped Swedish charts on the music streaming platform with his hit song ‘XO’.

The victim, who was found in a car wearing a bulletproof vest, is said to have been a former close friend of Abdullahi. [link to www.independent.co.uk (secure)]
