"Upon the Iraqi oil minister's trip to Tehran which will be taking place in the coming days, the agreement on the Abadan-Basra oil transfer pipeline project will be signed," the official IRNA news agency quoted First Vice-president Parviz Davoudi as saying. "Based on the agreement - the import of crude oil from Iraq and the export of oil derivatives to this country via these pipes - the Iraqi people's needs will be met" Davoudi didn't say when Iraqi Oil Minister Hussain al-Sharistani would visit Tehran to follow up on the initial agreement. Davoudi made the comments in ceremonies marking the departure of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki from Tehran. The initial agreement on the construction of the 40 kilometer pipeline that would transfer oil from Iraq's oil fields southwest of the port of Basra to Iran's Abadan refinery, was signed in mid-2005. A supplement to the initial agreement was an oil swap arrangement which foresaw an equivalent amount of Iranian light crude sold on behalf of Iraq at Iran's Kharg island terminal in the Persian Gulf for around 350,000 barrels a day of Iraqi Basra light crude shipped to Abadan refinery. -By Hashem Kalantari, Dow Jones Newswires; +9821 8896 62390; Hashem-Kalantari@ yahoo.com Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.Praise the one who gives you peace beyond all understanding Yes that scripture still sounds good ! |

It doesn't matter at this point though. US/Israel plans can't further with Russia, Iran, Syria, Turkey, saying they have had enough. US does not have the manpower and would be pulverized using the Nuke card. Not to mention the US can't secure Iraq as it is. Rove has jumped ship and more will follow. |

They know very well that Iran wants peace in the region, whereas the American and Israeli regimes only want perpetual war. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 278500Indeed, and that reality is all over. Russia is moving into the region now. Enough is enough. |

The soviet's support for the Khomeinists 30 years ago, and their misguided support for radical Islamism today is a MAIN cause of ME strife - the Islamists were worked up into their anti-Israel lather mainly with Russian encouragement. Eventually it will bite them.. |
