They could be launched from a ground base and fly there and back. they may not even have a pilot, just GPS waypoints. |

Residents in multiple counties across the three states have been left baffled after spotting dozens of the aerial-vehicles, which feature six-feet wingspans and fly across the sky in grid-like patterns between the hours of 6 and 10 pm. On Monday, around 75 people from a variety of state, local and federal agencies - including the FBI - met in the city of Brush, Colorado in a bid to uncover the identity of the drones' operators. CBS reports that 77 different agencies have now joined the task force. No private companies or government agencies have admitted that they are operating the drones. According to The Denver Post, representatives from the FAA, the Air Force, and the Army - in addition to members of the FBI - were present at Monday's meeting, which lasted around 90 minutes. One county sheriff who attended the meeting told the publication that the task force is hoping to hunt down a 'command vehicle' which could be controlling the flying objects from the ground. 'A drone 500 feet in the air, we can't do much about that. A suspicious vehicle in the middle of a county road is something we absolutely can[ do something about],' Lincoln County sheriff's Captain Michaell Yowell told The Denver Post. The vehicle could possibly be a 'closed box trailer with antennas or a large van'. [link to www.dailymail.co.uk (secure)] This is just a bid to quiet the public and let them know the "gov is looking into it" so the public will stop panicking. It's DHS drones flying specific patters using LIDAR and radiation sniffing tech and probably some things we don't know about) in a bid to defang any hidden devices meant to blow shit up--and blame it on Iran. Tunnels, hidden weapons caches, suitcase nukes etc. Letting "the public" know the truth (we are wired to blow when ***THEY*** need a new FF...and the drones are hunting this shit. No way does a private person or company have enough money to buy that many HUGE industrial drones and operate all of them in secret. Let's hope they find what they're looking for. They are guarding Yellowstone--but are they guarding Cumbria Vieja? I hope so. Things are going super hot in the next few days. Be smart, be prepared, eyes open, no fear..there's nothing you can do about it anyway. |

If I see one, I'm definitely shooting it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20580257 That is all. be prepared to fork out thousands for restitution. if they are not hobby drones they are likely fitted with very expensive lidar, flir, and other technologies. they are flying 200-300 feet up, so if they are utilizing these techs they must have the best of the best to work at that altitude. your typical $2000 lidar only reaches 40 meters. to get one to reach 200 will cost you your arm your typical $5000 flir camera is 240x180 resolution which would not provide any detail at 200ft in the air. Shoot one down, good luck doing ballistics on the shotgun shell, lol. Time is fleeting. |

Right before covid and never talked about again. I live in the affected area, they are still around, but nobody talks about them. I saw one in Ellis Ks in December. The most identifying feature is that they stop and go about every 6 feet. They no longer fly in huge swarms. Now its only 1 or 2. It seems like there is always one with a really bright white light controlling the one that is scanning. They only fly after dark. They are a standard quadcopter configuration. They are nothing that you can get on the civilian market. They fly for long durations, and in heavy winds. I know people who have been close enough to them to see a lidar unit spinning on the bottom. They turn the lights off when they go home, so you can't follow them. After the FAA statement, I am pretty sure that they are a US GVT black project. I think they must have lost something dangerous over the plains, and now are looking for it. |

Nothing out here on any band that I'm aware of. They primarily operate over open farm land. They are looking for something small enough that they need to stop every 6-10 feet to "scan". They were initially in a grid formation with 20+ drones over a field, if that gives you an idea how they search. They really don't operate over populated areas very much. My guess is they dropped a warhead/payload and don't want to tell the public. |
