He reacted as anyone would when painfully grabbed and restrained, and yet he apologized afterward. He has a history of thoracic surgery to remove part of his right lung, the same side the woman was pulling. Pope Francis has many haters—quite a few of them on this forum alone—and his predecessor was attacked at a Christmas Eve Mass in 2009, so he has to be on guard all the time when out in public. Wipe the foam from your mouth and put aside your hatred for the Catholic Church for a moment; realize that these are elderly priests, not young rock stars who can better deal with the grabbing and jostling of a crowd. |
