When animals get really desperate they do sometimes ask humans for life saving assistance. We're all in the same boat.

40 degrees is nothing for a koala, the thing probably had rabies and was not acting normal.

The cyclist was a probable leftie who frenches the dog, and will drink from that bottle without washing it.

A few months from now, the twitching will start . . . .

Koalas are friendly to people to begin with. I want one. My cat is narcissist.

That won't stop the rabies.

And why the environmental message?

Fact: Australia is not the hottest it has ever been. Remember the line:

1. It's been dry for a few years now. Human-built dams are drying up, so forget about the streams and creeks these animals rely on.

2. Rabies is rare in Australia. With koalas, you have to be careful because they carry chlamydia.
Find better sources before making an ass if yourself.
Also, the koala on the video was clearly not rabid.
Do you know what rabies is and what the signs are?
Did you even watch the video?

3. I dare you to come here and sit outside with me. A warm breeze on a 45 degree day and it feels like you're in a fan-forced oven. I drink between 5 and 8 litres of water when I spend a day out on the bush, just walking.
Now do it without water. You're an idiot if you think you'll survive. Many stories of stranded motorists who had no water. In this heat, you're dead in 2 days if you're not found.

4. Why a lefty?

As an aside,
No, you do NOT want a koala as a pet. They are cute. But they are vicious. And not as friendly as you'd like.
Their claws will rip you apart and leave a nasty infection. The bite can give you chlamydia.

As an earlier poster said, this koala was clearly desperate.
Do what you have to do to restore natural balance, then leave nature to be nature.

Koalas are an endangered species confined to areas that are currently burning up and their natural water sources have been appropriated by humans.

In hot dry summers in the US putting water out for animals does a lot of good for them but you don't give a shit and you're too thick to even understand.
