Re: What Is Everyone Making For Christmas Dinner??
Christmas Day we are having a traditional baked ham, Yams, Mirliton with shrimp, mac'n'cheese, we are also throwing a turkey in the Char-Broil-Big Easy Oil-less Turkey Fryer... It makes the turkey so yummy..

Pecan Pie, cheese cake , and thin slices of my Fruit Cake.

I think that will do.. LOL

On Christmas Eve we are making a big black pot of Jambalaya, deviled eggs, cheese ball, Jalapeno jelly and cream cheese dip, party sandwiches, lots of chips and crackers, lots of various sweets.. We have a huge crowd Christmas eve for a Dirty Santa party, that thing will go on for hours.. What a hoot..

Re: What Is Everyone Making For Christmas Dinner??
My brother sent us a smoked turkey last week, so we are full of turkey.

Christmas Eve Dinner After Mass:
Tamales
Tacos
Guacamole
Pinto Beans
Flour tortillas
Pico de Gallo
Chilie

Christmas Day:

Snack all day in our pj's. We'll probably talk to family on the phone and then either/or binge netflix/read new books Santa brings.

We will have enough tortillas, avocados, beans etc to make burros for lunch on Christmas.

For the seafood Gumbo, so far I have 5 pounds of gumbo shrimp, 6 pounds of Royal Red Shrimp, 1 pound Louisiana Crawfish Tails, 1 pound Blue Crab Claw meat, 1 pound Jumbo Lump Crab meat, 2 1/4 pounds sausage and 1 1/2 pound garden grown okra to throw in it.
 Quoting: NOLAangel

I'm making a sausage and roast chicken jambalaya.

Some home made gumbo would hit the spot. So would oysters on the half shell and militon dressing and some of that baked macaroni they used to make at Sal and Sam's in Chalmette. Oh yeah. I also miss the Russian Wine Cake.

Yeah ya right. Rocky and Carlos, not Sal and Sams. I remember people would line up cafeteria style to bring home Sunday dinner: baked macaroni (not mac and cheese, that's different) roast beef gravy, peas, french bread. Damn people could eat back then. Like 10 pounds of food. R and C would pile it on!

It would kill me to eat like that now.

I am making a huge pot of Seafood Gumbo and a Butterball Turkey.

My Gumbo will be huge this year because I have a lot of people to feed so I have to double the roux and am having to double the seafood too. I am even feeding some that are not coming but have requested a to-go bowl.

The Turkey will only be an 11 pounder because I am only making it for the very few who don't like gumbo, but I have others who have volunteered to make sides to go with it.

For sides and other stuff, we have Green Bean Artichoke Casserole, Potatoes Au Gratin, another side (the maker of this has not decided yet), Spinach Artichoke Dip, Taco Salad Dip, Carrot Cake, Pumpkin Pie and another dessert (maker of this has not decided yet).

What time should I be there? I'll DEFINITELY bring the beer....

OP your gumbo sounds like it's going to be amazing. I grabbed a Honeybaked Ham because my Mom likes it and then I'm making fresh french green beans, cheesy scalloped potatoes, my hubby's mom's baked beans recipe and some fresh baked bread. Desserts are all over the place. Cookies, cake, cheesecake, pudding pie and that's it I think. There's only four of us. Merry Christmas.

Sounds wonderful OP! I’ll be making lamb lollipops. Never made them before. Enjoyed them once or twice years ago. I’ll also be trying my hand at homemade pasta, probably a wide noodle and then make a bolognaise sauce. Anise cookies for dessert with lemon extract instead of anise.

Making head dish, everyone is making a dish separately.

Picking up some fresh wild salmon later on.

2 option, made in oven with a lemon Dille garlic butter sauce

Or crispy skin baked in olive oil dressed in salt and thyme.

Everyone can choose.

1.

Or

2.

Side dishes included.

Easy, no long chicken time and light.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
