This is an important question because it concerns the degree to which we are determined to follow our own path, and the degree to which we are determined, and the degree to which we are sovereign. If we are easily swayed from our path by others, we will - in the end - become discontent and unfulfilled. Too many deviations slow down the course. A lot of violence results from emotions being pent up for a long time. When it all becomes too much - after being patient or resigned for long periods of time - people may explode at the slightest provocation. It is optimal if we can express ourselves at the time when we actually feel strong emotions out the very outset, as opposed to later when they may suddenly burst out, in complete disproportion to what is actually going on at the time.
