Grown the greatest economy known to man. Fought in two world wars and supposedly helped the right side win. Advanced technology to allow for longer happier lives. I guess the reality that is wanted is for this land to be some sort of nature preserve filled with different tribes that fight over land and still take slaves. |

All we did was massacre women and children. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78166626 No honor in that. I would go even farther than just revoke the MOH. I would postumasly strip them of all rank and dishonrable discharge the lot of them. Who is we? Were you there? Is "We" you and the turd in your pocket that you snack on? First off I wanted to correct a spelling error on my part, posthumously. Ok now with that out of the way. When I say "we" I mean we the majority of Americans. Hate to break it to ya but trumpers are not the majority. Never were. The country is a changin and its sure not swinging conservative. So give it 2 or 3 years and there very well might be revocation of awards in regards to the Indian wars. It wasnt right what we did to them. What does that really do? Satisfy some desire for post tragedy justice? You may see things differently, but I think our world is fucked up. Shouldn't we try to fix the here and now rather than worry about the past as some kind of SJW crusade? I'm abhorred about the Japanese "nose mounds" of the noses of Koreans that were CUT OFF and taken back to Japan as proof of "success" in the war from 1592-1598. What good would it do me or anyone, for that matter, to protest the slaughter of innocent sixteenth century Koreans? It's over, it's done. If you listen to fools, the Mob Rules. Our world is fucked up NOW. How about we try to fix the present? Yes we should definitely fix the here and now but I also think we should admit our mistakes and right certain wrongs we did. No one is perfect and we as humans are not who we were back 120 years ego but as someone who loves history I think it would show the greatness of our country by showing some humility. Maybe I was being hasty when I said dishonorable discharge them because they were just following orders but in my opinion it would tarnish the MOH by letting them keep the award. |

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] On the morning of December 29, the U.S. Cavalry troops went into the camp to disarm the Lakota. One version of events claims that during the process of disarming the Lakota, a deaf tribesman named Black Coyote was reluctant to give up his rifle, claiming he had paid a lot for it.[7] Simultaneously, an old man was performing a ritual called the Ghost Dance. Black Coyote's rifle went off at that point, and the U.S. army began shooting at the Native Americans. The Lakota warriors fought back, but many had already been stripped of their guns and disarmed.[8] By the time the massacre was over, between 250 and 300 men, women, and children of the Lakota had been killed and 51 were wounded (4 men and 47 women and children, some of whom died later); some estimates placed the number of dead at 300.[3] Twenty-five soldiers also died, and thirty-nine were wounded (six of the wounded later died).[9] Twenty soldiers were awarded the Medal of Honor.[10] In 2001, the National Congress of American Indians passed two resolutions condemning the military awards and called on the U.S. government to rescind them.[11] the US Army was there to disarm them. They hadn't done anything, the Army just wanted to take their guns. The Wounded Knee Battlefield, site of the massacre, has been designated a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior.[5] In 1990, both houses of the U.S. Congress passed a resolution on the historical centennial formally expressing "deep regret" for the massacre.[12] |

One of the Indians didn't want to hand over his guns because he paid a lot of money for it i understand you racists love the idea but just remember, these are the same military officers that slaughtered 600,000 southern white people under the pretext of freeing slaves. communist mercenaries who didn't give a shit if you were white, black brown. they cared about being paid and would take orders to do anything they were told. |

Those cowards and murderers received Congressional Medals of Honor for that. |
