Post the most healing words you know

This is kind of a story rather than a phrase, but it really helped me through a troubled time. When my son was a teen, he had a few very rocky years, and I was beside myself thinking I had done something wrong to make him behave so horribly. I tried so hard to make a balance of disciplining him but also keeping him somewhat happy and I was worried that I had overcompensated with being too nice because I felt bad for the fact that I was a single mom and his dad was basically worthless. It was a very upsetting time for me and I was so anxious and worried about him, and my boss said something to me that lifted so much weight off my shoulders.

She mentioned how even G-d has children who do things wrong. Even his first children, Adam and Eve. So if G-d is perfect and his children still use their free will to behave how they want, how can I expect to do any better?

Of course, it could be used as an excuse for terrible parenting, but at the time, it really helped me out.

My son is now doing great. He turned out just fine and I couldn't be more relieved.
