Re: I experienced a grand mal seizure last night for the very first time
Put your hands over someone’s eyes, when they are having a seizure. . Cover up and uncover, repeat until they take a big breath and start blinking eyes. Brings them out of seizure a little quicker. And repeat name while doing this.

Turn them to side with hand supporting neck and head. Or turn them to their back. Depending position when seizure started happening.

Something about changing light to dark, resets the eyes and helps come out of seizure, repositioning the head and neck helps come out a little quicker. Because I believe they originate at base of skull. Body shakes violently to reposition the skull on spinal cord. And areas in neck.

Don’t ask how I know, unfortunately from experience with people in my life.

You need to go to the hospital.

Someone very close to me passed suddenly after seizures started (within three weeks) and she’d never had one in her life.

She had undiagnosed liver disease... she’d also never had any symptoms of that, before the first seizure.

Re: I experienced a grand mal seizure last night for the very first time
I have had many seizures, most of them petit mal, but had one grand mal. Was taken to hospital immediately (luckily I was in public and dozens of people saw me). They first checked for diabetes and a brain tumor. Had neither. Before this incident, I had had dozens of a different kind of seizure.

Re: I experienced a grand mal seizure last night for the very first time
And seizures are reoccurring 90% of the time.

Most likely you will have another.

Need to find out why. MRI or X-ray will explain.

Doctor will probably prescribe something just in case. Prevention until they find a reason. Who knows, few cases people never have them again. Why I believe it is a natural defense to reposition neck spine skull. Whichever .pinching a main artery?

Prevent stressful situations. Eat healthy and sleep well over next few days.

A grand man seizure should expel any energy you have and you would be exhausted for 24 hours. good time for seizure to reoccur and weeks following.

Good luck. Anyways good info for people, seizures scare 99.99 % percent of people.

Neck, spine and skull is usually the area of interest with a seizure

It might be something like this

It's called an arachnoid cyst because it occurs in the space between your brain, or spinal column, and your arachnoid membrane. ... If an arachnoid cyst develops in your head, it will grow between your brain and skull or in pockets around your brain called ventricles.
