A SoCal Edison transformer caused the recent Saddle Ridge fire. PG&E found hundreds of damage power lines from the winds, so turning off the power prevented fires.

Got solar WITH a Powerwall 2 and my Prius Prime can charge daily from it. Yeah, solar (if you are connected to the grid) is worthless without a battery, you are totally cut off from any power it is producing during a blackout.

I don't think so ... but in any case if the power is off PG&E will NOT be sued because of them. Corporate Logic 101

As long as litigious California sues their power providers for fires, the power will be cut off. When California waives future litigation, there will be no more blackouts

How can their state government NOT order the power be kept on? It’s a public utility. I dont see how this is legal, let alone ethical and really, this just looks like asymmetrical warfare.

I think this is a series of very bold actions that's designed to take down California's infrastructure. This has the blessings of the far left and their leadership. The govt of California is primarily socialist left. They have no love for POTUS Trump or any citizen in California that is not in lockstep or support of their ideology. They want the Constitution rendered inert because it's the only major obstacle to their overall plans.

Big Tech is in Silicon Valley, they're anti-#1A. Controlling and curtailing freedom of speech is one of their priorities. The Governor is a mini-Beto and totally anti-#2A. Total disarmament via abrogation of the Rule of Law and in total support of the Kigali Principles (UN) of 2016 that was signed by Obama/Sotero which had theCalifornia Democratic leadership fully back up.

The systematic shutdown of all shortwave repeater towers in the State. That means zero comms for information and help.

POTUS Trump taking back the Port of Long Beach back from Red China thus seriously pissing off the Socialist Denocrats in power here in California. This all adds up.

To me, this paints a very bleak picture for those that live in California as Constitutional, conservative, liberty-minded people. California is under assymetrical attack. It simply has not gone hot in the traditional sense yet. Put all the pieces together and from both a layman and military point of view, this is an attack.

It's a destabilization operation on a massive level. All planned and paid for.

Wind in the high desert on Thursday 17 Oct was a nothing burger. Dallas Rains says hot dry weather is coming this weekend and the fire danger will increase. Be ready for more power outages.

That poor guy on the oxygen machine that died ten minutes after they cut power is agreeing with you... I'm sure.

The wires should be underground to begin with, but this modern civilization we currently enjoy was not built to last. Everything is cheap and disposable.

JUST IN: PG&E said it may need to keep imposing blackouts in California for up to 10 years to reduce the risk of sparking fires....
