"... The lead singer of The Cars has died at the age of 75 after being found 'unconscious and unresponsive' in his Manhattan townhouse. Ric Ocasek (above) was discovered by estranged wife Paulina Porizkova at around 4.14pm inside his Gramercy Park home in New York. The frontman was pronounced dead at the scene and appeared to have died from natural causes. Ocasek and the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April last year. They were described as 'hook-savvy with the perfect combo of new wave and classic rock,' by the institution.

They weren't even really rock, but they sound very rock compared to what I hear today. I miss some of these sounds.

Funny, I was listening to a show Eddie Money did on Sirius radio today and he said when he was on some tour that his limo was the lead of a convoy with some celebrities and something happen but that Ric Ocasek tells the story differently about how Eddie stopped the limos because he saw a hot dog wagon and in turn held up the convoy.

The rock star apacalypse has started

I cant remember his name at the moment, but the guy who was the "leader" or the cars was that dude with the sweet feathered blonde hair cut. He sang on the 70s hits, then Ric sang on a lot of the 80s hits and because of MTV, everyone thought that the Cars was Rics band.

Anyway, RIP Ric. I was a fan and thought the Cars was your band.

Reminds me of all the times over the recent past I've seen cars going by or at gas stations with their speakers turned up high and blasting rap music. With "lyrics" about the N-word, hos, pimps, pussies, fucking, motherfuckin,' thugging, raping, looting.

Lots of entertainment in today's era is a variation of the same theme. TV shows and movies celebrating freaks, weirdos and "goddamn America, your chickens are coming home to roost."

A more culturally, politically liberal America (today's US president is merely a short respite) is so nice, warm and huggable.
