Doom break... Recipes, music and whatever strikes yer fancy

Just felt like sharing. Nothing like uncovering good tidings from a near forgotten generation.

Here's a good recipe that is delicious and an absolute hit everywhere I take it.


COATED GRAPE SALAD

2 lbs. red and/or green grapes

1 (8oz.) pkg. of cream cheese

1 (8oz.) container of sour cream

1/2 cup of sugar

1/2 tsp. vanilla

chopped walnuts/pecans {optional}

brown sugar {optional}



Combine cream cheese, sour cream, vanilla, & sugar in a large bowl and beat together with mixer.


Wash your grapes and remove from the stems. Fold into the cream cheese mix until well coated and VOILA!

Sounds good. Simple fruit salads are sadly no longer in vogue...but they taste so good.

One more for now. These were my dads favorite candy that my grandma made.

PINK DIVINITY

3 c. Sugar
3/4 c. Water
3/4 c. White corn syrup
1/2 pkg. dry Jello (cherry)
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 Egg Whites
1/4 tsp. Salt

Boil sugar, water, white syrup, and salt in 2 qt. saucepan, stirring constantly. Then cook without stirring to hard boil 250°. Remove from heat. Beat Egg whites in large bowl of mixer till soft peaks.

Add gelatin beating stiff peaks. Slowly pour in syrup , beating constantly at high speed. Beat until mixture begins to loose (sic) it's gloss. Drop from teaspoons into wax paper, or into small paper muffin liners. Makes 2 lbs. Or about 48 pieces.

You can substitute any flavor if Jello you prefer.


It's a lot easier to make then it seems, and pretty dang tasty. Makes an awesome gift as well.
