An American friend here in Oz, buys heaps of American food from a shop here who import it. I was looking through the ingredients of some of it, and some of the ingredients are actually banned here in Oz. . interesting! It's rare to be allowed to import actual American food into Europe. We usually get a chemical-free version made especially for us. But now and then when at the American Candy Store in search of marshmallows, spray cheese, and Reeses, you'll find some chemical factory candies that have slipped through. Toxic food additives are a problem. Artificial flavors colors and sweeteners. Do your body and mind a favor, stop eating processed foods with artificial ingredients and huge lists of ingredients you can't even pronounce. so true! you feel so much better when you don't eat processed foods! |

We can stop buying foreign products that don't have the regulations we do. Even here, the "regulations" don't do shit. The corp will just spend a kings ransom litigating, which they can then write off on their taxes. Huge armies of lawyers to fight anything and it costs them NOTHING. Even if they lose, they can just "reorganize" everything on paper with nobody held accountable. They don't have to make one physical change to their manufacturing, offices or anything. Just put everything under "new reorganization" and "new management" and it's back to business as usual. Oh yeah they can write that all off too! |

Yep. In the US, I always ate from the outside aisles (vegetables, fruit, beans, basic pasta, basic rice) and from the organic shop (meat, thank god they had a butcher), and also the occasional imported junk foods and cheese as and when I could find them on sale. I did all of that just to avoid major health problems. It was dismal. Then one day.... I went to Europe and picked up a candy bar to read the ingredients. And there were no chemicals or corn syrup in there. Then I went and picked up some TV dinner type meals and read the ingredients, and it was just food. I fecking binged. Two months of nothing but mac and cheese, ribs, pastries, everything in the frozen food aisle, cakes, chips, and candy. I gained ten pounds before realizing I probably needed to reel it in. America has a serious shortage of non-contaminated food. Last Edited by TlvmmCpoft on 09/13/2019 12:29 PM I don't know what lies they told you, but I can promise they were lies. I’m guilty myself- don’t want to look like a sea hag any sooner than I have to. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to look younger and healthy. Obsession about it is the problem. The Savvy Buyer |

How many products have methylmercury in them??!!! What about all those products in the dollar stores that copy the authentic products? What about the ones in Aldi stores etc that copy the authentic products? Makes you wonder!! Read the labels. They usually have the same ingredients, just in a different order. Ingredients are listed from highest amounts to the lowest. Generics put the more expensive ingredients in lesser amounts thus the savings. Now and then I notice the list of ingredients are different by one or two items. As for mercury - how many people still walk around with their mouths full of amalgams? Poison from those leak out (kirlian photography proves this) every time we chew, brush teeth, drink hot coffee. |

User ID: 77347043 Poland 09/13/2019 12:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm eating a burger, outside of America. I was able to just grab the cheapest generic hamburger buns. They don't contain chemical preservatives, corn syrup, or bizarre tree-bark-based paper-industry-runoff fillers. I didn't have to pay specialty shop organic rates for this. The burger is meh (America still does beef better than most places) but it contains no added hormones. I didn't have to pay Trader Joe prices for this. It was just generic grocery store meat. The BBQ sauce is just generic store brand. It has maybe eight ingredients, all pronounceable. I didn't have to go to the organic aisle to find it. The tomatoes and onions are tomatoes and onions. They have more flavor than your average US mega grocer store veggies, but they're still veggies. I'm sure they have some pesticide residue. We're still on planet earth. The roasted red peppers came in a can with maybe two ingredients, not ten preservatives. For this, I paid around a dollar. I didn't have to go searching through gourmet sections. All together, the price of a burger, once cooked, stuck in a bun, and hidden under a layer of toppings, is around $1.80. And I didn't have to feel like a specialty anti-chemical freak shopping for it. I don't know what lies they told you, but I can promise they were lies. China's still worse. Scary thought, eh? EU imports tons of certified organic food produced in China respecting EU standards....good luck finding a single "US organic" product in EU...they are not allowed. in fact the only food imports from US is mostly feed illegaly to animals or to people by not reporting the origin. Almonds producers in Europe have been destroyed by cheap imported almonds from California. They spray tons of toxic perfluorate on them and people started to avoid the US imported almonds and so many companies try to hide the origin of them. |

Aldi's is owned by the same company that owns Trader Joe's, if I'm not mistaken. I highly doubt they're going to poison people. I'd be suspicious of anything from a dollar store, however. |

Lard contains lanolin and my grandmother used it sparingly every night. When she died (at 92), her skin was still beautiful, with few wrinkles considering her age. . |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77178564 United Kingdom 09/13/2019 04:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Woman in semi-comatose state after using skin cream from Mexico Quoting: abeliever Rachel Grumman Bender Beauty and Style Editor Yahoo Lifestyle September 11, 2019 A woman is in a semi-comatose state after using a skincare cream from Mexico, which was tainted with toxic levels of mercury. The 47-year-old mother of five, of Sacramento, Calif., has allegedly been buying Pond’s Rejuveness cream from Jalisco, Mexico, through a “friend of a friend” for 12 years, and using it twice a day without any problems. According to Fox News, her son said his mother was aware that an ingredient was being added to the face cream before it was shipped — ostensibly, to make the anti-aging cream more effective — but that she hadn’t experienced any issues with the skincare product before. Testing revealed that the tainted face cream contained a powerful form of mercury, known as methylmercury. While mercury levels less than 5 micrograms per liter in the blood are considered acceptable, the woman had 2,630 micrograms per liter in her blood, according to KCRA. [link to www.yahoo.com (secure)] LOL.. Did anyone care to read the full article? 5 micrograms is tolerable per 1 litre of blood and she had HALF of that so why is she in that state who knows but not from Mercury... People just start jumping after reading the first sentence... LOL... That is why I love this site.... |
