SHINGLES PAIN AND ITCHING? I think I might have actually stumbled onto a CHEAP EFFECTIVE REMEDY.
About two years ago my wife came down with a really bad case of shingles. We tried all kinds of natural remedies but nothing really worked. After a few months it finally got somewhat better but the itching never went completely away.

That’s the thing with shingles: sometimes it never completely goes away. I never had it, but man. From watching what my wife went through, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. It’s really that bad.

So fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. I stumbled on to this website about the many benefits of taking organic sulfur:

[link to www.organicsulfur4health.com (secure)]

One of the articles was about how sulfur helped this guy who had shingles get a good night’s sleep:

[link to www.organicsulfur4health.com (secure)]

That’s all the article said. So I figured if it helped him get a good nights sleep, it must have alleviated his pain. If it alleviated his pain, maybe it could help with my wife’s ongoing shingles pain.

So I ordered some organic sulfur crystals on Amazon (there are other online places you can buy it).

The full description is: organic sulfur crystals 99% pure MSM crystals. Cost is about $30 for a pound (lots of doses).

As soon as it arrived my wife started taking it (protocol below).

WITHIN A DAY OR TWO SHE STARTED NOTICING THAT HER SHINGLES ITCHING WAS LESS.

AS OF TODAY (10 days later) I ASKED HER HOW THINGS WERE GOING AND SHE SAID THAT THE ITCHING IS COMPLETELY GONE.

TAKING THE SULFUR WAS THE ONLY CHANGE IN HER DIET SO IT’S ALMOST CERTAIN THAT THE SULFUR WAS RESPONSIBLE.

My conclusion is this: if sulfur helped my wife get rid of her shingles itching, it might have been something that could have helped her with her more severe symptoms when her shingles episode started, two years ago.

One thing’s for sure: if I ever come down with shingles, the first thing I’m going to reach for is SULFUR and for me personally, I'd probably hit it hard - like 1 teaspoon dissolved in water several times an hour. (Studies have shown that sulfur toxicity is low. A lethal dose for rats was 5 grams per kilo which equates to about 330 grams for a person who weights 150 pounds - THAT's A LOT ( [link to pmep.cce.cornell.edu] .

If you’re reading this and you have shingles or know someone who has shingles and they try this protocol, please reply to this post with the results so that others can benefit from your findings.

Blessings and good luck!

SULFUR PROTOCOL:

(Regarding the following protocol please note that I'm not a doctor and that you should always try to see a licensed physician if you have anything seriously wrong with you.)

1. Put 1 teaspoon organic sulfur crystals in a glass.
2. Add several ounces of hot water (use distilled or reverse osmosis (RO) water – don’t use tap water that might have chlorine in it)
3. Stir until crystals are dissolved.
4. Add another couple of ounces of room temperature distilled or RO water.
5. Stir again.
6. Add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar or maple syrup if you want to mask the bitter taste.
7. Drink all of it.
8. Drink another glass of plain distilled or RO water.
9. That’s it.

I have been taking sulfur daily for several years. I use real raw surfer, the yellow stuff, just a pinch in water. works great.

Wow. I’ll keep this info in case mine ever return. I got shingles when 8 months pregnant with my son. Stress can bring them on and it was a very stressful time plus being pregnant. Thank you.

Can’t comment on shingles but I know a nurse that was anorexic and had all sort of health problems. She started taking MSM and now feels great and is about 15 lbs overweight. I now take MSM every morning in my breakfast smoothie. When you start taking it it really clears out the plumbing.

I had shingles for years. I would always get them in the summer and attributed it to too much sun, as we would stay on the beach in July.

TURNS out it was cashews. My inlaws always had cashews and they are my FAVORITE NUTS! One day I read an article waiting in line in Whole Foods about eating for your blood type. It said for me, if I ever had chicken pox, etc. that cashews would kick off outbreaks.

Still miss cashews but haven't had an outbreak in more than 10 years.

Yes!!! Our diets are so lacking in sulfur nowadays, because nitrogen is added to our soil to reduce time/effort in farming. A high quality methylsulfonylmethane oral supplement is good, along with Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) baths, and topical sulfur products. Sulfur is also a fantastic remedy for stubborn acne and itchy eczema.

Re: SHINGLES PAIN AND ITCHING? I think I might have actually stumbled onto a CHEAP EFFECTIVE REMEDY.
Thanks for the info op.

I am terrified of getting shingles. They say it's one of the most painful conditions, I have a couple relatives who had it and they said it was the worst pain they ever experienced.

Doctors won't prescribe pain meds anymore. I had an accident last year where I lost a finger tip and the er gave me a shot of something that is formulated to not make you high which did nothing, and the doctor sent me home with 2 pain pills. When I saw a couple doctors for it afterwards they didn't ask about pain and I didn't bring it up either.

A good friend recently had kidney stones which was very painful but again no one wanted to bring up the pain topic, and did she ever suffer.

Doctors see any complaints of pain as drug seeking behavior, even if you just had a fingertip amputated.

Shingles is excruciatingly painful, so any tips on how to possibly treat it so it is not quite as bad as it could otherwise be is very helpful.

if you are going to take it long term... try it straight (a teaspoon/tablespoon whatever).. you get over the taste and then you can just mix it in coffee or green tea which it isn't that bad in...supposed to be great for your teeth and gum health to let it dissolve in your mouth

Rub witch hazel on the area followed by rubbing one of those mineral/salt deodorants stones all over while it is still wet. Dries it up and keeps it from spreading.
Also taking antihistamines work great to cover up the symptoms and will make it easier to sleep.

1st time w Shingles was miserable. A year later I had a breakout in the same spot. Applied ABREVA over-the-counter herpes cream & it appeared to keep it from spreading AND lessened the severity. Granted, it is possible it was a coincidence and simply not as severe a breakout.
Just know if/when it happens again ... it will be the FIRST thing I do!
IMPORTANT!! DO NOT SCRATCH SHINGLES!!!
It will spread it and make it infinitely worse!

Thanks. Please let us know if you ever have to use it for that. It seems to me also that taking organic sulfur on a regular basis might be a really good idea to ward off any possible future shingles outbreaks. And there a re a lot of other health reasons to take sulfur. You might take some time to research it.
