For clarity's sake, I only mentioned an option for upgraded members as it would be the easiest way to institute a new option such as this - solely to illustrate how easily such an idea could be integrated.

$1/month (just throwing out a ballpark worth - fuck it, let's throw out $10/year option too) subscription to e-mail notifications of super-pins as a wholly separate service apart and independent of registration as a member is what, I think, is along the lines of what OP is suggesting.

Users online can be faked. Feedback from what is super-pinned and what is not is a different ballpark.

More work involved, but more income for the site, too, I would think, since though my views differ, I know for a fact OP is most definitely not alone in his/her views of the primary value glp has to offer.
