User ID: 77665716 United States 08/04/2019 03:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | She is now in the loving arms of Jesus. Sliver Patriot, a 10 year poster on GLP, passed away last monday, July 29th, from cancer. She had been diagnosed in April. When they attempted surgery in April, it was everywhere in her abdomen, so they started heavy duty chemo and radiation instead, to try to knock it down. It never worked, and she steadily went downhill. Quoting: tiger1 Silver Patriot, my friend Sandy on and off this board, fought with all she had, and was bolstered by the many prayers of posters on this board. I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your kindness, for your thoughts, and your prayers for my friend Sandy. While Sandy was still conscious, she told me she wanted me to tell you all "THANK YOU" for your prayers. Sandy was a Patriot, having served in the Air Force, as did her husband. Sandy was also a Prepper, very wise to the possibilities of "anything can happen". Sandy was a strong person, but very kind hearted to all in need. She was such a good, and supportive friend to me, talking me through a lot of the strife I have had at home over the years. All I had to do was call or send an email, and she had my back, no matter what was going on here with me. I was privileged to spend her last few days on this earth with her, praying with her and for her, helping her with her medical and other needs, and giving her husband, her sole caregiver, a little break. Even though she went home from the hospital on hospice care at her home on July 25th, Hospice didn't show up until the afternoon of July 29th, a few hours before Sandy died. I had to catch my 18 hour train ride back home to the Chicago area, a couple of hours before Sandy passed away. She died as I was en-route home. Sandy's legacy, IMO, is to fight for what is right, never give up, and keep the Faith. Godspeed my friend ! What a difference you made in my life, my dear friend Sandy !!! RIP. So very sorry for the loss of your friend, and for the patriotic poster on GLP. Bless you for your kindness and love in caring for your friend. Hold your head up, dear one, and know that the angels see and celebrate you. Prayer is the most powerful force on earth. “I care not for a man's religion whose dog and cat are not the better for it.” Abraham Lincoln I sign all karma given. Would that those giving it to me followed suit. |

He went through a lot with his stroke, and now he lost Sandy, his loving wife of 37 years. They had no children, and no close family. He is very much alone to process and deal with all this. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

Hold your head up, dear one, and know that the angels see and celebrate you. Thank you. I just started crying again. The trip to New York to go to Sandy's bedside was an adventure, and a miraculous one at that. If you go to page 891 of the prayer thread, you can read about my journey, and the absolute miracles I encountered along the way.I had to go, I was meant to go. I had the medical skills to do more than just sit there with her. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

Quoting: christian MY heart and prayers goes out to her husband, family and friends..I know she is with the LORD never to suffer again. She was a lovely person, I feel lucky to know her here on GLP.. May GOD comfort those her are hurting this loss.... Sandy was really into gardening and eating healthy. She avoided GMO and was very careful about the foods she ate. She will be missed here!
