I live about 18 miles West of Disney No rumble or unusual noise here.

Yeah, that was about the time of the launch. So if the conditions are right that low frequency rumble can carry a long way.

I'm in Ocala and the thunder storms were fierce for the last month. I'll bet that's the reason. You do know central Florida is the lightning capital of the US right?

so yer saying it was a sonic boom from a rocket launch.

Heard it in Oviedo.

It was about 5 mins after the launch which was in Cape Canaveral and it was a deep, long rumble. Sounded sort of like heat thunder/lightning but no lightning.

Also, the launch tail is usually bright white or yellow looking and this one was red and then it was gone. I know we had a lot of cloud cover but the color of the rocket tail was not like I have ever seen before.

Ever considered they might be testing out some of their "exotic" technology?

They blame the weird boom on atmospheric conditions, that's a pretty lame explanation.

And if it's true, maybe we should ask what is going on in the atmosphere?
