People with concealed depression are battling demons within themselves all on their own. They are not sharing their struggles and do not want to burden those around them. You see, for most people wounds are not something we are open about. We tend to bottle things up and attempt to remedy them on our own. If you are reading this then you must know someone who you feel you need to better understand or you relate to this yourself. The following 15 habits are some of the most common I have noticed in people dealing with concealed depression. 1. The are often quite talented and very expressive. A lot of famous people have suffered from mental illnesses, and this suffering gives them deeper emotions. If you really think about it, this is in some form a source to their greatness. While we cannot always see it, their struggles are often reflected in their works. These people are able to bring something beautiful out of the darkness that consumes them. 2. They tend to search for purpose. We all need a purpose in this life. We want to be sure that we are in some form doing meaningful things. People suffering from hidden depression are not exempt from this. They too want to know the reason for their existence. They are much more susceptible to feeling things like inadequacy and anxiety which leaves them searching for something they can never seem to achieve in their own minds. 3. Sometimes they make muted cries for help. Sometimes we all need help. When we are not expecting someone to feel weak or to be down in the dumps, we don’t see their cries for help. However, if you notice their cries and can help them in any way, you are creating a very close and trust filled bond with them. 4. They interpret substances differently. Someone who is dealing with depression usually knows what it is they can take to ease their pain in a sense. They know that caffeine and sugar will raise their mood and that some medicines can help them. They actually have to put a lot of effort into feeling better, unlike most people. It is not as simple as taking a Tylenol when you have a headache. 5. They often have a very involved perception of life and death. People suffering from depression often face their own mortality in moments of despair and seek answers to life’s deepest questions. They tend to shift from one terrible mindset into another. Sure, not all depressed people deal with suicidal thoughts, but some do. 6. They have strange eating habits. People with depression may not be able to eat much or at all when they are at their worst. That being said some of them may eat more when at their worst. It varies from person to person. 7. They have abnormal sleeping habits. People with depression will often sleep for what seems like or may literally be days. Sleep at times can be impossible while other times could be the only thing left that the person can do. When a person is depressed they are dealing with a state of helplessness that will rock their world. 8. They have abandonment issues usually. If you have dealt with abandonment then you know how terrible it can be. When someone walks out of your life it can be a devastating, but this impacts those with depression much more than other people. It causes them to be more and more secretive about their feelings and creates a fear within them of being abandoned by their loved ones. 9. They are professionals at coming up with ‘cover-up’ stories. They are able to come up with believable elaborate excuses for the things they are going through. Like if they skip an appointment or don’t return your calls for days. They can easily change the subject when things like this come up and turn the attention away from their pain. 10. They might have habitual remedies. There are several different lifestyle changes a person can make as an attempt to ease their minds. For instance, these people may do things like exercise, listen to music, go walking, and so forth. 11. They are always making efforts to seem happy. People suffering from depression learn to fake moods. They will often come off as happy and normal on the outside. When they let their inner struggles appear on the outside they feel as if they are bringing others down. 12. They seek love and acceptance. People with hidden depression are not hiding their depression because they want to be dishonest, they are just working to protect their hearts. These people want to be loved and accepted just like everyone else. 13. They have trouble shutting off their brains. These people process everything going on in their lives at a fast speed. They over analyze the good and the bad making everything impact them much deeper. Their brains are like sponges absorbing everything that comes their way. 14. They hurt when other people hurt. When other people are suffering it brings them down to their worst points. This sort of thing often triggers their emotional pain and can be crippling. 15. They always think of the worst-case scenarios. While this is very stressful it can be beneficial from time to time. A high intelligence seems to be linked with depression, and they are able to respond to anything that comes their way. This makes them good problem solvers for the most part. If you or someone you care about is suffering from concealed depression either get help or offer a helping hand. Fighting this alone is not easy or productive. The world can be a wonderful place if you get the help you need nothing can stand in your way. You are not a burden to others and the people who love and care about you want to help you, let them. The Big Pharma mind altering drugs will fill your mind with a literal "light" behind your eyes. You can actually see it and feel it, but never ever zero in on it. It forcibly makes you happy and worst of all detaches you from reality itself. You'll feel as though you're not even in your own body anymore. That's completely unacceptable for those of us who are control freaks in our own ways. Especially those of us who are actually leaders in our own ways as well. Thanks, OP, for this thread. User ID: 77447940 United States 07/20/2019 02:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The very first thing you should do if you think you are depressed is have your thyroid checked. In fact, many women are hypothyroid. A small amount of good quality coconut oil will alleviate this if you can't or won't take medicine. However synthroid is extremely inexpensive. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72341210 It often begins as hyperthyroidism (anxious and jittery) and as it burns out, the patient is left with hypothyroidism (mimics depression symptoms). Itisone of the most common misdiagnoses as harried docs with literal minutes of face time with patients presume "depression". Back in June 18th one of my sisters and I had to go to OK City to deal with the second to last stage of our father's inheritance court stuff. About half way to OK City my sister started to ask me about my major obesity. She knows it's not really my fault that I am indeed fat. After letting me know that she wasn't actually judging me and demanding I lose weight pronto she began to ask me a barrage of questions about this and that about my health. I wound up answering "Yes" to nearly every one of her questions. Most of the questions I could not answer "Yes" to were things I had been experiencing for decades now. One such question was "Have I been experiencing any new pains?". I just told her that I had been experiencing off and on again pains that travel around my body, especially all along my spine. They can get so bad that I literally tear up because I can not deal with the pain "like a man". The pains are that intense. I used to take Aspirin when I was in my teenage years such as when I was about 15 and 16, but my bodily pains were so great and so frequent that I was taking literal fistfuls of Aspirin a day. It got to the point our mother had given me an "Aspirin budget". I stopped taking the pain pills and my pains became great again. Back then, our mother had us on Medicaid, but she never once used it for our benefits. In fact, if our mother had actually used our Medicaid benefits properly during our teenage years our lives would of been radically different. This is the same sister of mine who quit high school and ran amok with her and our lives. All because she was in so much pain on a near constant basis. Turned out she had some sort of critical cystic issue on the linings of her uterus back then. This ruined her sexuality and her life. It wasn't till a year or so ago she managed to get Medicaid or some sort of health insurance for herself that she managed to get a proper medical treatment and diagnosis for herself. She got cured of her critical health problems with some surgery. She's been alot happier and no longer an uncaring and unceasing super bitch to everyone. Our sister was figuring since I answered pretty much "Yes" to every one of her borderline too-personal questions she told me that I need to go to my PCA as soon as I can and use my Medicaid to pay for as many DNA tests as possible. She strongly suspects that I have the same auto-immune disease she has. I forgot what the auto-immune disease is called, but it is semi-critical. As in it won't kill you outright, but it will lead you to have a myriad of health problems that will inevitably become critical over time. She's officially diagnosed with that auto-immune disease. I am not eager to be diagnosed with anything negative for the sake of being diagnosed, but if it directly leads me to *finally* "getting" the body that I have been literally dreaming and day dreaming about for decades now then I am all for it. Conspiracy Theorist is nothing more than a derogatory title used to dismiss a critical thinker. A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us." -- St. Anthony The Great Social Credit Loser here. |

I stopped taking pharma crap in 2006 and have worked hard to change my life ( and have done a great job at it ) around, but I still find myself getting in really depressed moods a lot. And it’s getting harder to deal with. I don’t want to go back to any meds because I will feel weak and out of control. But I may not have a choice. I don’t wanna be like one of these clowns that make it to my 60s-70s or further and off my self. Most doctor offices treat you like an idiot and I hate that feeling. I’ve been battling with this decision for some months now. Nice topic though It’s a Thorazine word party, with free Fluoride bubble gum. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77687816 United States 07/20/2019 03:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Full Article Permission: Quoting: CitizenPerth By Gerald Sinclair July 5, 2017 Depression is a very serious mental illness that often goes unnoticed for years. Just stop GIVING a fuck!! LAUGH at all the DOOM and all the SHIT..and thank GOD and MEAN it that your miserable life here with its pointless routine will not last forever. Accept the fact that NO ONE GIVES A FUCK about you..they never really have..and they never really will..and when you die..you go through the door the same way you came in..naked..cold..and utterly ALONE!!! Thats LIFE..get the fuck OVER it..and be greatful that you will soon die and not have to not try to give a fuck anymore. Live each second as though it was your last...and when some stupid cunt gives you the flip in traffic...take satisfaction that soon he will be rotting happily in a hole with some landfill somewhere. Look at those who piss you off as DOOMED...just walking peices of meat and bone looking for somwhere to lie down and ROT...because my friend..thats exactly what YOU are..just some fly attractant looking for a good place to set up shop and feed some maggots. So..cheer up..enjoy what miserable pointless existense you have left..STOP giving a fuck..and be glad you will be dead soon..and it will all be over..except for the sreaming in hell for eternity bit..IF you are into that. If not..you will simply not exist...wont that be fun? Remember the last time you didnt exist?..you spent several million eons happily wasting time not existing..and did it bother you at all??..no...so why the fuck should it bother you again?? So..GET the fuck over it...FUCK the world..its DOOMED..everything IN it is DOOMED..and soon it will all fade into a meaningless memory remebered by no one..for all die..all are doomed..and no one will remeber you..who you were..or what you did..and even if they did..they would not GIVE a fuck. There..I hope I have cheered you up some. Now..turn on the news..and watch the doom...and lighten up a bit. |

My Mother died suddenly when I was 7, Father abandoned us when I was born, Orphan. Then im adopted and beaten like a red headed stepchild till I run away at 13. System, streets, drugs alcohol, suicidal thoughts. I climbed out of it and am functional now, but your discription is spot on with how depression affects a person. Need to add, the combination of lack of sleep, improper diet, and mental anguish, makes one physically sick, and weakens the immune system. PTSD from 6 years of beatings and mental torture, and 6 years homeless and feeling worthless, hopeless and abandoned. Not just soldiers get it. Trauma comes in many forms. |
