... especially during downtrends and bad news on this forum, I just want to say I am impressed how young people have learned how to trade and invest.

There are older people of course, but the vast majority of bitcoin and crypto traders appear to be young adults.

I am curious where they learned. Do they teach that in school nowadays or on their own?

I think it is a valuable skill to have. I'm new to trading in middle age, but starting with old-school stocks and likely won't touch crypto anytime soon. It's is tough and you appreciate those who are successful at it.

Re: With all the hate Bitcoin traders gets...
Yeah, don't understand all the hatred either, but I take it as a symptom of cognitive dissonance and a sign of cryptos being a true disruptive technology and therefore even more worthy of following the trends.

In a similar situation myself, just starting to get over the hill and new to trading.

Decided to learn trading as a skill that would be useful and something I could do even into my senior years.

Actually, I find trading in cryptos (using the profits to secure long term positions) is very educational as it is so fast moving that you can see months/years of traditional stock price action in just a single day. As you have found, I agree that profitable trading is not as easy as the popular perception has it.

Not sure that they teach investing in school (we certainly didn't "back in the day") but I think because it's easily accessible and with low barriers to begin trading, it's something the kids get into and learn on their own.

Good luck with your efforts!
