Cast iron Lode pans swinging on the wall, wind chimes clanging and clanging (I put them up specifically for early warning of earthquakes...they work good too)... and I was ready to turn off my propane tank if it got worse. I kept repeating "earthquake...earthquake" to my dogs. This shakers get the adrenaline going that's for sure. ............... Yep. It was slamming my window blinds around pretty good. When the second wave started, I even got up to get away from the windows just in case it got stronger. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77774578 [link to www.google.com (secure)] what is that facility? It's just east of China Lake Weapons testing base But the ONE off BELLA BELLA north is not near there.. This is a natural series along those related faults. The 6.4 happened under that facility - look here and it shows that same facility and the epicenter of the 6.4 right beside it a few hundred feet - [link to earthquake.usgs.gov (secure)] |

Quoting: REMJR1 Interesting the way the Ring of Fire has affected many parts of Asia, New Zealand, South/central America while the Pacific Northwest has remained mostly quiet. Even Southern California has been hit with various large quakes over the past 90 years, with two big ones in Northern California (the huge one in 1906 and the "World Series" one in 1989). Quoting: NOFAKE [link to twitter.com (secure)] The type of soil makes a big difference. A lot of LA is sand and liquidity happens during a quake. I made sure to find a house built on solid rock, it makes a difference during a quake |
