Miggy, Gofundme is a good way to go for those really in need. I've seen people fund their vacations (openly) on there. I know its tough to ask for money, but sometimes we all need a little help.

I am so ashamed. I would hate for my immediate circle to know I'm in trouble. They've been so proud of me these last three years I don't want to let them down. But thank you for the advice.

I feel for you OP and prayers sent your way. Being downtrodden is no picnic, especially when you’ve been struggling to do your very best, and get slammed down over and over. There ARE blessings seen and unseen. Perhaps the unseen blessing will occur in a way that will change your situation. I dearly hope and pray for this situation.

You're in a rough spot right now, but this, too, shall pass. Try not to panic. Be sure that your landlord knows that money is, in fact, coming and that they are first on your list. Most people are reasonable when you lay it on the table for them.

Evictions are SLOW. even in so-called public housing. Do not panic. Ignore the note on the door in terms of time. Take it to a free legal group if you can. Or call a tenant legal hotline. Tenants generally get treated very well.
Evictions do happen, but a LOT has to happen before that... could be well into next year before anything real happens.

Meanwhile, you may find work. your sentence about being forced to resign makes me mad, as being outright fired could give you an easier time in some areas.

Churches do offer help. Don't panic. When I had to care for my dying dad, I was able to take time off work. It was only a short time. For my mother, I got FMLA family leave and then left the job, as it was impossible to continue scheduled work.

NOT where I live... we are still trying to get legislation to make it take longer.. You can be evicted with your court hearing in one week or less here. I have seen it and I was forced AT my court hearing to take a deal or the sheriff would be at my door that weekend. People are lucky to get a week and I have a senior disabled amputee friend that was given one week.

As a Landlord, I can tell you, if someone knows the laws,
they can drag out eviction for MANY months.

Totally unjustified, but the laws and courts are for the
tenant, poor babies, not the Landlord who has to maintain
the properties, pay the bankers, etc.

And pay the legal fees,
and deal with trashed units
and free rent for freeloaders.

Though you are not Mormon, I know from some good friends of mine who are, that they might help you in an emergency. If all else fails call the head of them in your city.

If your judge is a woman play on her sympathies. If an old guy cry. Young male judge, probably no sympathy. Not being facetious, used to work around them.

All i can tell you is that many are facing this. We are being taught to live day to day. Hols on If I understand our real home is on its way. When I saw this I understood how blessed I am.

Hi..So sorry to hear that you are ill and now without a job. I do have experience with this. If your past job doesn’t dispute it, you will get unemployment quickly. And anything owed back. You must do all this online or on the phone. You must apply every week. Keep logs of any jobs you call or network with people to find a job. Write down the information in case they ask for records. Don’t do it online just keep paper records with names, people you spoke to and if you sent resumes to company’s, the email addresses. Unemployment is no longer 80% of you pay. There is a max and each state is different. They will call you and ask you questions. You can set up direct deposit. Most states are now only 26 weeks but some still carry an extension. I will pray for you. I hope you find a job soon and not have to deal with Unemployment. It is definitely a lot of work. They will also have you go to an initial meeting and then a workshop. Not long. But it will show you how to do it on the computer. REmember, gets copies of the JOB Sheet. That way you can put dates and info and keep it for your records. They may not ask for it. You have to show that you looked for 3 or 5 jobs a week and when you ask for the benefits, put that you looked 6 out 7 days for work. Whether you walked in and inquired, get a persons name or called places or applied online with a resume. Relax and breathe. It will be ok. God bless.
