The Nibir/Nibiru is a star near the opposition transit point of the Sun and Jupiter.

There is no such thing as a planet called Nibiru. The Nibir is a star near the opposition alignment of Jupiter and Sol.

It is perhaps interesting to note that Zecharia Sitchin took this same information and twisted it into his wandering planet theory. Sitchin explicitly cites George Smith, the Victorian translator of the Enuma Elish, as a key source, and we find Smith writing in his Chaldean Account of Genesis (1876): “I have translated one of these names nibir, ‘wandering stars’ or ‘planets,’ but this is not the usual word for planet, and there is a star called Nibir near the place where the sun crossed the boundary between the old and new years, and this star was one of twelve supposed to be favourable to Babylonia.”

In Twelfth Planet we can see exactly how Sitchin misunderstood the concept of a planet as a wandering star and twisted it into the idea of a wandering planet: “The Sumerians called the planet NIBIRU, the ‘planet of crossing,’ and the Babylonian version of the epic retained ... astronomical information…” Thus the idea that there was a wandering star that reached the summit of the heavens every twelfth year curdles into a giant planet hurdling about the universe.

Both Sitchin and Velikovsky wanted to literalize mythology and remove it from the realm of symbolism and astrology, despite the explicit claims in the source texts to astrological symbolism.

It might not even be a star at all. It might just be the Crossmark opposition point (stargate) since Nibiru means 'crossing over'.

And where is Nibuhura or whatever now? These fairy tales might have worked a few centuries ago, but today we have a lil' thing called "technology". Even in the hands of an Amazon shopper, we can view most of our neighbors in this solar system. If a stellar body were, as you claim, is in opposition to Jupiter, it would be visible to Earth for much of the year. See, the Earth's orbital time is much faster than Jupiter's.

So again, where's your proof?

It just so happens the Jupiter/Sol crossing (the nibir) is a significant portent before Solstice, though. Not a planet, but a time marker, a star gate which when once crossed can never be uncrossed. Little notice they took that Marduk was broken, for their minds have not yet conceived the divine snare that comes upon all the earthdwellers.

Nibiru never refered to a star, or planet. It was always an astrological term among the Magi for astronomical bodies crossing a threshold of opposition alignment.

I've always wondered what ELSE could be referred to with
the "Nibiru" hype over the many years the "Planet-X" theories

I think what REALLY sealed-the-deal on Planet-X for me,

all the photos--many of them as far back as 1998--of a
SECOND "ORB" IN THE SKIES NEAR THE SUN. (It is hard to

So...What ELSE could be in the skies that makes the same
appearance as a "rogue planet" passing Earth? THAT'S EASY.
At least 2 things science can offer for a 2nd "orb" is:

1. A CURRENT SUPERNOVA (which would be close enough to be
seen in the skies, but not close enough to do catastrophic
damage to the planet/solar system) and there have been

Are you calling SOL the Sun? Because I don't find a clean/direct translation from any language of SOL=SUN.

I found that Spanish translates from google translate, SOL to Sun, but if you reverse it, it changes to DOM.
