Thanks I knew I watched the 5 hours Barr testimony for a reason the minute Muller started going on about it I knew I had to find that original clip.

It's not actually a contradiction.

Barr said that Mueller said that even if he could have charged Trump, he would not have done so.

Mueller said today that he could not have charged Trump even if he had wanted to.


So not a contradiction, but Mueller trying to avoid admitting that he had no case. Furthermore, he could have recommended to Barr that Trump be charged. That was his role, and of course the final decision is with the AG. His report did not recommend any charges.

On obstruction it said clearly that it had not probed Trump innocent. But prosecutors never try to prove people innocent. They try to prove them guilty and succeed or fail. In this case Mueller failed.

Well barr said he recorded the conversation with Mueller

so we are going to find out

Mueller's report said he didn't have evidence for a charge. Barr's testimony asserts that Mueller also told him that he (Mueller) would not have charged Trump if he could have done so.

Now Mueller, while not contradicting any of that, is trying to make it sound like the reason he didn't charge Trump was DOJ policy. Sure Bob, but what's the reason you didn't even recommend charges?

Until today, I have defended Mueller against the accusations that he is a partisan. I did not believe that he personally favored either the Democrats or the Republicans, or had a point of view on whether President Trump should be impeached.

But I have now changed my mind.

By putting his thumb, indeed his elbow, on the scale of justice in favor of impeachment based on obstruction of justice, Mueller has revealed his partisan bias.

He also has distorted the critical role of a prosecutor in our justice system.
