Hmmm, I don't remember that happening before, they say it was changed "per tradition" 2- Did you watch the video of the blast? C-1!? lol asif 3- The magnetic canopy from yesterday is gone - [link to spaceweather.com] ...and look at today's image; looks like the sun has huge zit on the left side! - [link to www.spaceweather.com] Triangles up! They usually do rename a repeater... C-1 is not size of blast.. its the radiation it releases. |

C-1 is not size of blast.. its the radiation it releases. ok-ic-ty but that blast was massive, I have been watching this stuff for a while and nothing seems static. I personally think that a sun spot will open up inside of a coronal hole and the solar wind will carry the cme all the way to earth. Yikes Young mystic |

I guess we'll know the same day the asteroids are rumored to be hitting. Things are bad enough, there is no need to make anything up. ~Fluffy "Never interrupt an enemy in the process of destroying himself." Quercitin and zinc...Get it. Take it. "ANOTHER BIG SUNSPOT APPEARS: With one big sunspot (AR2740) already turning toward Earth, another big sunspot (AR2741) is now emerging over the sun's eastern limb. Amateur astronomers with safe solar telescopes are encouraged to point their filtered optics here and monitor developments. Instant Aurora Alerts: SMS Text." I worship the sun each day, and the earthmoon at night :) I am ready my lord. "POSSIBLE EARTH-DIRECTED CME: Over the past three days, sunspot AR2740 has puffed numerous minor coronal mass ejections (CMEs) into space. Until this morning, none were Earth directed. However, a faint "halo CME" that left the sun during the early hours of May 7th might have an Earth-directed component. NOAA analysts are modeling the storm cloud now. Stay tuned. User ID: 77388453 United States 05/09/2019 03:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH: Minor G1-class geomagnetic storms are possible on May 11th when a coronal mass ejection (CME) grazes Earth's magnetic field. The source of the CME is big sunspot AR2740, which propelled the solar storm cloud in our direction three days ago. Auroras could appear as far south as the US-Canadian border. Instant Aurora Alerts: SMS Text. ANOTHER SOLAR FLARE: May 9th began with a bang. Big sunspot AR2740 produced another solar flare, this time an impulsive C7-category explosion. Telescopes onboard NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the extreme ultraviolet flash (see link for video of the flash). Radiation from the flare briefly ionized the top of Earth's atmosphere, causing a brownout of shortwave radiation over Asia and the Indian Ocean: map. Frequencies affected were mainly below 20 MHz. Ham radio operators and ships at sea using shortwave transceivers may have noticed the disturbance on May 9th around 05:50 UT. |
