Website Takedowns picking up steam and what to do about it

If your content is in any way controversial or offensive to any determined audience, note that hosts and registrars routinely get asked to take down the content for a variety of reasons, including sabotage, e.g. posting copyrighted content, or inflammatory content, and then reporting it as a violation of Terms of Service.

Here is an easy and free way to see if your source IP address that corresponds to your hosting provider is exposed:

If the IP address is visible and it maps to your actual host, there is not just a DDoS risk, but more importantly anyone can contact the host and file an abuse complaint, and ask others to do the same. It is increasingly common and likely to accelerate further.

Also, be aware that even services like CloudFlare are not foolproof. For example, more than 2.6 million CloudFlare customers have known exposed IPs so this is more common than most people realize.

BitMitigate.com is stronger for this which is why GodLike.com continues to use it instead of CloudFlare, SiteLock, or other providers.

Citing policies against ‘dangerous individuals and organizations,’ Instagram and Facebook banned Infowars, Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos and Louis Farrakhan, among others. Any mention of them will result in bans, too.

Any account that shares Infowars content will have it removed, and face a permanent ban for multiple “violations.” Facebook and Instagram will also remove any and all Infowars videos, audio or articles.

Groups and events that promote Infowars or any of the banned “extremists” will be removed as well, a spokesperson told the Atlantic...
