User ID: 77397371 United States 04/17/2019 02:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This vote was in a Senate committee, so presumably, the next action would be a full Senate vote. The article says a similar bill was defeated in the House last year, so hopefully, the House reconsiders this year. Gov. Ivey is a wildcard in this one. I have no idea whether she would veto the legislation. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. |

Quoting: Sir Osis of Liver 50251709 I do want to point out for all your liberal hating on this site thats its the liberals that want it legal and its the republicans that want to keep it illegal. Yeah I've tried implying that in the past - that if conservatives would pick up that issue and take it from the democrats - that democrats would have all that much less power in elections. I see no reason to play hardball against enacting new policies that actually reflect where the majority of Americans stand regarding this issue. It's only a "Scary liberal thing to make the sheep compliant blah blah blah" because we've let it become that. Our politicians and friends, family, and neighbors treated people like 2nd-class citizens and encouraged the state to destroy their family, finances, and freedoms by sending people to prison over it. People act like a person should have their life, and their kid's lives, permanently altered and destroyed over fucking weed. Come on, I can't think of anything less American than wanting the state to rip apart families and revoke freedom over using a PLANT. What is this, North Korea? Should we sentence generations to prison over someone using a plant instead of getting shitfaced drunk? Just because we are conservative doesn't mean we don't have blood on our hands to, or that we are above having to have humility about things from time to time. I think it's time that what ever element that is in our party that promotes trillions spent on wars but can't just give the people the right to use a plant, you really need to ask yourself just what is it that's so worth us fighting for in this reality then? You bankers want your wars and money and power, I just want the freedom to not go to prison and get ass raped over using a plant. Sometimes you just begin to notice patterns and trends though, and one thing I've always had an issue with in regards to certain conservative "Flavors" in the US is their strong opposition to giving cannabis legalization a chance. I've yet to this day been able to pull from someone a coherent explanation as to how they could possibly be against any amount of cannabis being legalized for adult use (21+ or older) yet have refrigerators crammed full of alcohol and who vote for Republican politicians who, at least in my state, are the ones who often take campaign donations from the Tavern League.
