It is just like when people name their kids and their kids end up with either a really stupid pretentious name that labels their parents as hippies, hipsters or ghetto trash etc or a name that a dozen kids in their class have too. The parents are in sync with current times and pick a name they like the sounds of well so do millions of other parents like the sounds of that name too! When ever people try and be different they end up looking more the same. It is a paradox in this world. You subscribe to a subculture and you end up looking like every other Goth, Metal Head, Gang Banger etc.

Being different is very difficult thing to pull off without going to jail, looking stupid or looking like everyone else in that particular subculture you subscribe to.

I was looking at the pictures and thought "Gyood gawd! What IS that ugly dam THING in MY #1 Show?!??" I was mad. Somebody getting rid of that scraggly bean pole looking THING from my show yard!

Don't see too good except up real close. Got to looking closer so i could find this creature and get it with a drilling hammer.

Heard about this elsewhere and busted up laughing. It's true, the anti conformists all look the same. Hipsters, emos, punk... they all end up looking like each other.

Millennials and younger, love to show their individuality by looking, thinking, and doing everything the same. Everything is group-think to give the impression of belonging to something. This isn't a new phenom obviously, we all pegged our pants at some point. The internet and instant social media has just made it worse and more 'uniform'. An example, now everyone has the exact same opinion on every comic movie. Ask a hipster what they think of Justice League, you'll get the exact same answer, ask about Wonder Woman, you'll get an opposite but exact same answer. This generation idealizes being the same. Very strange to me.

I'm starting to see "hipsters" (the skinny-jean soy-boy type) in the prosperous, white, middle-England market town where I live.

It is ... disturbing.

I had to get new jeans recently and I like the boot-cut style jeans, but not a single store here sold them any more.

They were all skinny jeans.

I was so pissed.

But I needed new jeans, so I had to buy a pair.

The Wal-Mart here only sold straight-leg or slim-cut or skinny-tapered styles. Same with every other place (American Eagle, Bluenotes, Old Navy, etc).

They don't sell work clothes?

Dickies double knee work pant. I still wear a few pairs from over ten years ago. They ain't skinny neither.
