To be full immersion like VR, people need to be in a space they can't hurt themselves, or break things. Jump scares, falling objects, the brain doesn't know the difference and will react. It's reflex and near impossible to stop. The reason we do not act out our dreams is due the brain paralyzing the body so we don't.
