Major Flood Risk Possible In Midwest Through May

It's coming to Colorado to man..I quit facebook or you would see my updates. I'm uploading a video to my youtube channel right now..It shows the EPIC snowpack in Rico Colorado and we have a MAJOR warm up coming next week...this is freakin scary. I'll link when it's uploaded.

Is this good news for the Colorado river though?

Im just downriver on the platte from there, albeit on high ground. 2011 wasn't crap compared to '93 here but if they have a good quick warm spell to the north and west melting all the snow it could get crazy. The ground is already supersaturated here.

Makes me wonder about planting a couple extra gardens this year. I have a feeling with the amount of livestock lost and farms ruined everyone is going to feel it at the stores in a couple months.

Well..Pheonix and Vegas are not going to run out of water as long as those dams hold up. This year tops anything I have seen in my 48 years in Colorado.

I think less than a couple of months..within weeks we'll see shortages and empty shelves.

I doubt it'll be that quick. Any "fresh" corn ears you buy from a few weeks to a few months won't be from the flooded areas. Theres a buffer. It was the same in '93, most of the surrounding farms were worthless for the remainder of the season, some 2 seasons.

so what... 65' and 01' were much worse, been through all of them. 07' was a particularly bad year for tributaries flooding over... was deemed a 200 year flood..

Problem is they have more HUGE snow and rain on the way..how can they recover? If it was over maybe they could...but it's not over.

Lest we forget, ethanol is made from corn. Just wait for them to jack up the prices of gas, claiming that the ethanol is now very expensive for them to add to gasoline.

The repercussions of this flooding are going to be worse than we can imagine.

Minnesota is still covered with snow, the flooding just began and will be historic,without counting the fast warm up will bring some nasty rain storms and Tnados.

I really, really hope downtown Saint Louis gets flooded out. It's a black, crime infested hellhole.

After the flooding in Missouri in 1993 they reconstructed the levees in St Louis county. Now when it floods a lot of low income people are going to get flooded. I use to live there and I remember everyone complaining about the risks but it was done anyway.
