In Brazil's case this is a chance to diversify its trade partners which is never a bad move.

I believe that Brazil will have an improvement in the economy, but in the coming years we will face problems again. To explain this would take a long time and would have to make a long development.

The big problem is the civil service that consumes more than 90% of the public budget. No you did very well and while your situation is similar to Argentinas in some ways (which I know more about) it's definitely not the same.

You're getting killed by the public sector. So much so it's pushed the private sector out of the economy.

Those pensions make a permanent drain on the economy that leave nothing for the younger generations in your countries system in a way that is extreme compared to most other countries. It leaves little revenue for anything else of consequence.

It sounds like you have many public sector jobs that should be made private sector as well.

I do not know if you like history, but if you like it would be interesting to research the history of Portugal.

Speaking of games, I tend to think of the strategies employed by the Great Powers.

Russia has some national goals that are at odds with the USA, e.g., we are close allies of Poland. Also, we oppose the Russians re-conquering their former empire such as the Baltics and Ukraine.

However, I think that peace with Russia IS possible. We certainly have no intentions of invasion, destroying Russia, or whatever. In fact, they pose a relatively small threat to the USA.

How did we get into the current adversarial stance? Part of that was Hillary, et al, accusing Trump of "colluding" with the Russians. If Trump makes peace with Putin, that meme becomes stronger.

I have a hypothesis: The Chicoms have FAR MORE funds than Russia. What if they have been paying off American politicians such as Hillary? What if they purposely blocked improved relations between the US and Russia in order to force Russia to be China's ally?

The Russians are a nation of chess players. Surely, they realize that China is their greatest threat. China wants the resources of Siberia as well as more room for their population. China is a land power. Any thought of invading North America is ludicrous. But Russia, that looks tempting.

Of course, Russia is a nuke state. However, if the Chicom infantry is close enough, the Russians cannot employ nukes. The Chicoms can easily sacrifice 100 million soldiers, while Russia cannot afford to lose any significant number.

At any rate, I wish that Trump would quietly make peace with the Russians. Let them keep Crimea. We could offer significant economic incentives to improve the lives of ordinary Russians.

China effectively owns so much of Russia already and China has always just went straight to the oligarchs, who have always run Russia obviously, to do their business. The Kremlin is in many ways just a name that means the oligarch collective.

I think you're right that China has designs on Russia in a WW sitiation if an opportunity presented itself and I think that is as much a part of Russia's military size as anything. It's an uncomfortable understood by two very old and two very opportunistic societies.

I don't know if they could ever effectively be separated though. They're so deeply intertwined and you're right, I think china likes them exactly The way they are.

As long as we Conservatives populate the US government and Brazil is friendly towards us, Bolsonaro will be a great ally and will have more support than you might think.

I think you're romanticizing a bit. Yes they have close personal relationships because of strife and a lack of resources.
Much of their survival mechanism is having many close interpersonal relationships.


But you say bully and rape like these things are somehow unique to America when in fact they're much more prevalent in socialist societies. Especially in South America in general. They have very hard lives compared to Americans and being robbed, raped, killed over something petty or "bullied" (more like having the shit kicked out of them) is a constant threat their whole lives.
