They might just swap out the first letter. BRICS minus Brazil plus Venzuela = VRICS.

The Russia-China and Brazil relationship was already changed when Dilma Rousseff was ousted as president.

Bolsonaro changes nothing for them, or at least it was more than expected and planned for.

For decades Brazil has had an anti-American and anti-Israeli mentality and was allied with the Eurasian (Soviet Chinese) axis.

The Bolsonaro election is a paradigm shift in international relations.

They switched him....thatz not the real Bolsonaro---fukn A---crisis actor?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51344104

Why? He's always been a rightwing populist and was called South America's Trump before he was even elected.

The only really shocking thing here is the CIA development.

I mean it's a little surprising just how fully he embraced Trump and jumped right into trade deals but not out of character for him.
 Quoting: Merit

He was not always a right wing populist.

His position changed a few years ago by the influence of a philosopher named Olavo de Carvalho.
 Quoting: Beast Baby

Well ok but it's not like it's a recent conversion or anything. He ran as a right wing populist.

I should have said thats all I've ever known him as.

I don't think Brazil is done with China and Russia or anything. China is still their biggest trade partner. This just gives America access and a chance to replace China as their biggest trader.

As long as they're still part of BRICS I'll view them kind of like a small version of India.

Well yes but we're super powers and over 20% of China's economy by ourselves. We could crash China if we bit the bullet and stopped all trade.

But you're right in that China has cheap shit and Brazil, like america, buys the shit out of it. The dynamic is different though. America and China is a Mexican stand off when it comes to trade. It's mutually assured destruction.

In Brazil's case this is a chance to diversify its trade partners which is never a bad move.

BRICS has never been the same since Rousseff was taken out. That was an effortless regime change maneuver.

I believe that Brazil will have an improvement in the economy, but in the coming years we will face problems again. To explain this would take a long time and would have to make a long development.

In fact, to explain what Brazil is today would have to return until 1822. Maybe well before this in 1500 in the kingdom of Aviz and go through the Philippine ordinations.

If Brazil joins NATO, it may eventually lead to Venezuela being offered a member status with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Venezuelan oil is coveted so the country is very important for all players.

In the first place it is necessary to understand that Portugal did not have a nobility when it arose, this nobility was "constructed" by means of the public functionaries.

Brazilian universities do not serve to create an intellectual elite, they serve to form the elite of the civil service. That is why I say that it is necessary to trace the history since the foundation of Portugal to understand this. If you look for the Philippine ordinations, it is very clear.

What is the problem with this?
The problem is that the public sector in Brazil is like a parasite that sucks all the resources of the private sector and there is no possibility that a country that wants to be developed has a much higher average wage in the public sector than in the private sector.

Congress is now in the process of discussing a pension reform that will make the population contribute more time to retire. I think this reform can give a relief to the government, but if I know Brazil well, once the money is in the box, they will return to give more salary increases and benefits to the civil service staff, which will make the country go into a crisis again.

Another problem is that Brazil is governed by a military Masonic junta (that is invisible to the common citizen) from 1822 influencing the emperor Dom Pedro and took the power de facto in 1889 when they struck Dom Pedro II.

Since the foundation of the republic we have had 7 constitutions. This military junta always comes in to save the system when it is ready to collapse.

Bolsonaro is too dumb to rule the country. He is merely a propaganda boy to approve all the impolitory measures these Masons want and after they do this they will probably put him out, or they will allow him to stay in power if he does not get into trouble.

After the Workers' Party has broken Brazil I believe that now is the moment of delivery to the international financial system. And that's what I think he's going to do and that's why I think the next crisis will be worse because there's not going to be anything else to sell.

I've tried to make a short development of the problem for you. It would take more time to develop each of these points but I think it gives you a general idea.

As I explained, the problem is not so much the social programs, which do not cost so much to the Brazilian government. The big problem is the civil service that consumes more than 90% of the public budget. Recalling that here in Brazil, if you take into account everything the government takes from the average worker like taxes and social security contributions, more than 75% is for the government.

For you to have an idea, the retirement of a person in Brazil by the general social security system (that is the private sector) is R $ 1,5000 and the private sector average is R $ 9,000.

No you did very well and while your situation is similar to Argentinas in some ways (which I know more about) it's definitely not the same.

You're getting killed by the public sector. So much so it's pushed the private sector out of the economy.

Those pensions make a permanent drain on the economy that leave nothing for the younger generations in your countries system in a way that is extreme compared to most other countries. It leaves little revenue for anything else of consequence.

I do not know if you like history, but if you like it would be interesting to research the history of Portugal.

The first king arose in a battle against the Muslims that seemed lost. There is a story of a miracle that happened to the appearance of Jesus Christ telling him that he would win. The name of the battle was the battle of Ourique.

The story of Dom Joao VI is also interesting. He was the only king who managed to anger Napoleon.

The story of Dom Pedro II is also interesting. This is a song someone did to him. It is in English. He was expelled from Brazil and took a handful of sand from the Copacabana beach he carried on all sides when he was in France.

Speaking of games, I tend to think of the strategies employed by the Great Powers.

Russia has some national goals that are at odds with the USA, e.g., we are close allies of Poland. Also, we oppose the Russians re-conquering their former empire such as the Baltics and Ukraine.

However, I think that peace with Russia IS possible. We certainly have no intentions of invasion, destroying Russia, or whatever. In fact, they pose a relatively small threat to the USA.

How did we get into the current adversarial stance? Part of that was Hillary, et al, accusing Trump of "colluding" with the Russians. If Trump makes peace with Putin, that meme becomes stronger.

I have a hypothesis: The Chicoms have FAR MORE funds than Russia. What if they have been paying off American politicians such as Hillary? What if they purposely blocked improved relations between the US and Russia in order to force Russia to be China's ally?

The Russians are a nation of chess players. Surely, they realize that China is their greatest threat. China wants the resources of Siberia as well as more room for their population. China is a land power. Any thought of invading North America is ludicrous. But Russia, that looks tempting.

Of course, Russia is a nuke state. However, if the Chicom infantry is close enough, the Russians cannot employ nukes. The Chicoms can easily sacrifice 100 million soldiers, while Russia cannot afford to lose any significant number.

At any rate, I wish that Trump would quietly make peace with the Russians. Let them keep Crimea. We could offer significant economic incentives to improve the lives of ordinary Russians.

Sure, Putin wants the old Empire back, but he cannot be so deluded to think that he will get it.

I think you're romanticizing a bit. Yes they have close personal relationships because of strife and a lack of resources.
Much of their survival mechanism is having many close interpersonal relationships.

But you say bully and rape like these things are somehow unique to America when in fact they're much more prevalent in socialist societies. Especially in South America in general. They have very hard lives compared to Americans and being robbed, raped, killed over something petty or "bullied" (more like having the shit kicked out of them) is a constant threat their whole lives.

Which is what causes those close bonds to others they can trust you speak of.

But it's a bitter sweet thing that comes from having to survive differently than Americans.

Some context if you're not familiar:

Brazil is a BRICS member and China is their main trade partner and they have been friendly with Russia for many decades and largely anti-american and communist/socialist.
