(considering it doesn't need poisons to grow it...it would be healthier to eat) makes good brownies. (they say of course) makes softer linen and stronger fabric than denim. all paper (including the oldest bible) were made from hemp. it was required to be grown for the good of the nation. it did save sr. bush due to his parachute being made of it. it's grown and IMPORTED giving the money to other countries. many more things too. go hemp! |

Hemp could save this planet, its time we start holding those who keep it from us responsible for destroying it |

Planting only 6 percent of the continental United States with biomass crops such as hemp would supply all current domestic demands for oil and gas. Hemp fuel is a real alternative. Did you know the average American spends 33 of 40 working hours to support their need for energy? It's true; 80 percent of the total monetary living expense for everything we do is ultimately wrapped up in energy costs; from the energy it takes to make the food we eat, to fuel for the cars we drive, to the manufacturing, storage and transportation of the products we buy. And 80 percent of solid and airborne pollution in our environment can be blamed on fossil energy sources. It is estimated that America has already exhausted 80 percent of its fossil fuel reserves. Isnt this a recipe for disaster? Hemp fuel is needed. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1018225 United States 03/07/2013 02:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hemp is part of the answer but not the entire answer, even Henry Ford knew this. In the year 1900 all farmers produced their own alcohol and it was such a huge export of France that a convention was held in Paris to demonstrate all the tasks that alcohol could perform from threshers to generators to automobiles. Henry Ford knowing how scarce gasoline was when he released the model T designed it to run on alcohol as well. When prohibition hit Henry put more focus on hemp. When hemp was outlawed he then changed focus to processing coal into gasoline. If a few modern techniques were applied to the traditional production techniques of alternative fuels the efficiency and reduced cost would be extraordinary. An example of modern techniques joined to traditional methods would be the enzymatic processes used to turn corn into high fructose corn syrup and couple this with traditional alcohol production. The sugars in the corn syrup are broken down to such short strands the performance of yeast should be far better that with standard sucrose. |
