People say that money can't buy happiness. Well, money does buy happiness but it will never buy you joy.

I used to be very wealthy. I had homes on both coasts, drove fancy cars, took month long European vacations, ate in Michelin rated restaurants....I had temporary happiness from all of the "things" money could buy. But I was empty on the inside.

All of the wealth I had acquired provided a temporary happiness which relied on external / outward experiences. When the experience is done, the happiness shortly fades away.

God brought me to financial ruin to teach me the difference between happiness and eternal joy. See, joy doesn't rely on experience for happiness. Joy is an internal happiness that provides a permanent happiness. It is possible to be dealing with crappy things in life, to be in a miserable spot but to still have a happiness that comes from joy.

(Psalms 16:11 NKJV) You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

There is only one that sits at the right hand of God and that is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If you want true happiness in your life, stop chasing after the riches of this world and put your faith and trust in the hands of the one that paid the sacrifice for your ungodly sins. He is the only way to the Father and he will fill you with peace and joy that this empty world cannot provide.

Store up your treasures in Heaven and not in a corrupt world that can only provide temporary pleasures.

With that said, there is nothing wrong with being wealthy. God chooses some to have more than others but he richly blesses those who use their wealth to further his Kingdom.

So if you do make lots of money from the market, I hope that you use it to make a difference in the lives of others.

An easy way to experience God's joy is to buy a meal for a homeless person, give them a new coat or pair of shoes. Then don't tell anyone else about what you did...don't brag for attention about your kind act. Let God show you how much fullness it will give you.

The concept of money is brilliant because it gauges your value to society...or your burden on it

Wealthy people fund ministries. Many live on a small fraction of their wealth.

Away from the life that simply consists of watching things die.
We lost three death camp members in the last week.

I care less what society thinks about charity to homeless as "enabling" them. Truly, if you are a Christian, you have no business making such claims.

This world is an empty place that lies to you every day, putting thoughts in your head that give you an excuse for not acting as Christ has commanded. Didn't Jesus tell us that the 2nd greatest commandment (right after loving God) was to love your neighbor as yourself?

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
