All these women look to me like they've been hurt bad. When I look at them, I see very young women who are trying to protect themselves by looking ugly.
That isn't new. It happens and most of them will evolve out of it when they realize that beauty is not a liability, but a power.

These women don't want you to be attracted to them. They honestly look scared of men to me.

My sentiments exactly! Some woman can pull off short hair. I have yet to see a shaved head look good though. Very unfortunate.

My kids are all age 10 or less, but the unspoken expectation has always been that they would go to college.

A few years ago, I started to doubt that on a purely financial basis. The math is such that, unless they are deadset to be doctors or some other career that requires post-grad education, it starts to make a lot more sense for them to be an apprentice and have me write them a $100K+ check after 4 years rather than spending it on a school.

More recently, I am starting to doubt it on a fundamental basis. I had always assumed college was a net positive. I just doubted the benefit was worth the cost. Now I'm starting to wonder if college is a positive at all. There are so many cases of kids (several I personally know) entering college as totally mainstream, thoughtful kids and emerging as freaks nearly unrecognizable to their parents.

It usually winds up being something obvious like “oh yea of course people are trying to stand out and be unique by doing that now (hair flip, shoes pointy, tight pants)”! Rarely is it the obvious (wigwam socks making a big comeback - still hasn’t happened I don’t think)

My guess for next obnoxious trend in five years:
Women will shave heads down the middle and leave the sides long just past their ears. The “clown-do”, reverse Mohawk, or balding 40 year old look if you will
